Think I might finally have a plan I like, that doesn't mean selling SJ, sacrificing positional cover, or playing Kris.

    NAS -> Murray
    Hopgood -> Cleary

Then next round, Penis -> Cotter/MKing to cover Tohu's bye.

    Leaves me with:

    Grant
    Haas Tohu Murray
    DiFi Bateman
    Cleary Hynes
    Manu Penis
    Teddy Ponga DEdwards

    DCE SJ Robson iPap

    Kris Lem Graham Munro

Lem back in next week, Penis to a MID, and no more Eels for the tricky final round bye. Selling Hopgood isn't ideal, but should still be a 10-15 point upgrade to Cleary and it's better than selling SJ. Having to play Cotter/Ming three times not ideal with all three of my MIDs still having a bye, but I'll have to sacrifice somewhere.

Don't hate it, obviously losing Hopgood with over a month to go isn't ideal but saves you the R27 headache especially since you also have Penis

You just need to deathride a player who's 99% owned in the top 1k

Do you even need to do NAS to Murray? It's an upgrade I suppose.

As silly as this may be I think I need to strongly consider swapping out Moses for Cleary. 4 parra players in my team is really gonna sting in the final week.

I have the trades to deal with it right now but it’s a long time in between, who knows what could happen.

Absolutely, none of the options are ideal but gotta sacrifice somewhere to get Cleary. The more I play around with things I realise I'm either gonna have to sell Hopgood, SJ, or sacrifice too much depth. Too scary not to own SJ and my 18-21 is already fairly weak without sacrificing any more depth, so Hopgood seems the only viable option. Still scary not to own.

Don't strictly have to, but I think it's a pretty decent upgrade. May be a bit too much of a luxury though and NAS' dual could be handy now.

Yeah if the choice is keep SJ or Hopgood, then it's 100% SJ

Shame no one will start with him next year as he'll be expensive as shit. Can't believe we got him at low $600k

Just to give some more perspective across for a few of us trading Drinkwater. My trade was to Haas but if I don't, then I need to use two trades next week to bring him in if I keep Drinkwater. For some, the extra trade is an issue, but for me, not as much. The other point for me is that keeping Drinkwater and using two trades to get Haas next week means I'm heavily weakening another position or needing a stud cow next week to be able to play if necessary.

Essentially not trading him means I potentially could be playing a shitto over say NAS or Matto. So while it seems crazy, trading him out in turn would improve depth and strength across the park IF I chose to still get Haas next week. All depends for your target I guess. Murray another cheaper option to maybe help that depth issue but for me it's Haas. The position is still very volatile and while Haas could get an injury, HIA or low score, it's a lot safer and a lot less likely than Drinkwater while still having a 2021 Turbo style season, can easily put up a 16 point game in 80 minutes.

Saying all that, I'm still haven't locked it in. I still haven't ruled out Drinkwater to Haas next week if options don't suit. That might be the option I go for. Drinkwaters BE means he SHOULD at least hold value.

A bit of "what would you do?" with my autofill team.
    Clearly too many WFBs

    Boyd
    Harris, NAS, Horsburgh
    Preston, Fifita
    Johnson, Hynes
    Manu, Kris
    Ponga, Tedesco, Bula

    Reynolds, Hopgood, SSmith, Edwards

    Sami, Kiraz, Lemuelu, KHaas

    $742k in the bank.

Current plan is straight swap Sandon Smith to Cleary but I could probably make two trade to upgrade two players to out-and-out guns and keep SSmith in 20/21.

If I've got my maths right, you can do Edwards to Cleary plus either Sami to any gun of your choosing up to 863k or Kiraz to any gun of your choosing up to 777k. That'd get my vote.

One of SJ/Moses/DCE has to make way otherwise you've got too much tied up in your halves and squad is too thin elsewhere.
Moses and Matterson/NAS to Cleary and a cheapie? or just Moses straight swap, you've got the cash.

Don't see how you get him without sacrificing one of your current halves. Having all five of Cleary, Moses, Hynes, DCE, and SJ seems overkill.

Without doing that, maybe Preston + VTW to Cleary + Culquhoun? Lem back to centre next week and Kris covering the back 5.

I like this, Murray could outscore hopgood from here out, that bye was timed perfectly for the rabbitohs, freshen up and all the boys back in town,

And then cleary is a must have- nice

At this point if you are around 500th and have top 100 aspirations is antipodding Cleary's hamstrings the best option?
