Based on the mail that Jack Bird has the lock spot for himself, I've changed my plan and reluctantly given up on my David Fifita punt and will just hold Bird as a looper this week. Swapping Fifita and Ford for Bird leaves me 559k for the final spot and I think I'm gonna back Ponga and his draw, which then means I have a much more balanced team. Thoughts?

This is the latest mix tape just killing time just spreading the cash around to see how it looks
63k ITB and a starter template team
Alot of easy downgrades or trade options if they don't fireand all decent job security early on

Ruined me so many times with his injuries

Ponga and Hastings interesting. You don't think one robs the other with respect to GK?

    Any love for Nick Meaney?

I had my eye on him going into trials but he failed the eye test imo. He can do a job but he isn't great, I wouldn't bother. I would rather go punt on Ponga who has HLF dual and is cheaper

Haha just having a look at options and trying to have a bet each way on some players without making decisions
I still quite like the half team I made earlier but this one seems a much lazier approach haha

Finalised my team, pretty set on it provided there's no curve balls in the next day or so. Good luck for the season ahead team.

Ponga recent scores at 5/8 not great.

His last games at 5/8 were four years ago, hardly recent

I'm struggling with Ponga, do you think the experiment works out this time?

    Tu - other
    Td - cleary

James Tedesco's round one scores for the last few years:

    2018 - 29
    2019 - 18
    2020 - 30
    2021 - 75
    2022 - 32

All of them were 80 minute efforts. As MS and Welshy say, never captain a back. As Milchcow said in 2018 and likes reminding people (me) of, matchups don't always pan out how you think they will. I guess one out of five aint bad.

You can definitely pick Tedesco, he's just as likely to follow 29 with a 90, but captaining him is ballsy.

It might, he has improved and matured as a player and having Hastings there should help but it is a risk - one I'm willing to take for now.

If Trindall scores 50, he makes 35k. If he plays R2 and gets 50 again he's up 87k total. There's an "if" there because he might not score a pair of 50s.

And if you don't think your other 230/250k players are going to make more than 87k over the first six weeks, you shouldn't be buying them.

Where it gets interesting is the third week of 50s, where Trindall would rise to 396k. Would need to know that he's a multi-week proposition before selecting him. Unless news comes out about that, then I won't be. Don't lose too much by picking him up next week either if there's negative Hynes news by then.

Staggs is a long-term buy because he's the definition of 20 or 60 scorer, and you can't predict when is which. He's sometimes good against the good teams and bad against the bad ones. I wouldn't be doing this. If you absolutely want Walsh, pick Walsh and loop with him. If you want Staggs, pick him and keep him.

Someone pointed him out to me yesterday and I hadn't really considered him much, the more I look at him the more I think he's a solid option and may well end up in my team.
