James Tedesco's round one scores for the last few years:

    2018 - 29
    2019 - 18
    2020 - 30
    2021 - 75
    2022 - 32

All of them were 80 minute efforts. As MS and Welshy say, never captain a back. As Milchcow said in 2018 and likes reminding people (me) of, matchups don't always pan out how you think they will. I guess one out of five aint bad.

You can definitely pick Tedesco, he's just as likely to follow 29 with a 90, but captaining him is ballsy.

2018 - 29 v Tigers (there once was a time when the weight of betrayal hung heavy on young Teddy, leading to poor fantasy scores against the club whose love he cast into the abyss... Roosters lose 8-10)
    2019 - 18 v Rabbits (them pesky wabbits... Roosters lose 16-26)
    2020 - 30 v Panthers (the dark dynasty begins... Roosters lose 14-20)
    2021 - 75 v Sea Eagles (let's party like it's 2021, final score W 46-4 - three try teddy)
2022 - 32 v Knights (it was a strange opening two weeks, I wondered at the time if the Knights had the least covid-disrupted pre-season. Final score; Roosters lose 6-20)

Who would've thought the Roosters have only won a single opening round game in the last 5 years?
Can they beat the Dolphins of indeterminate location? Can Teddy score one or more tries in an opening game for only the second time in six years?

    wheres the fun in that!

FWIW, my 8 year old has joined the family tipping this year and was adamant on picking the Dolphins.

I was at that game, Teddy also dropped the ball with the line beckoning to deny the Roosters a win, and himself ~16 fantasy points (try + line break + run metres)

As a non Teddy captaining Tigers fan, it was a joy to watch

This is the problem with staggs and picking him to start the year. You can wear a couple of 20s from tommy talau or equivalent but if you buy staggs for 20s it hurts so much more.

Hes the guy you pick up mid year for a run of 60s. At least thats what i managed to fluke a couple years back

Is there a particular reason people seem to favour HSS over Talau in the 13?

Obviously Talau has history of some poor scores but does HSS have good scores at centre in the lower grades?

He only scored 26 with a try in his only centre start back in 2020.

I'm not a fan of the Moale pick. I'd rather one of the options for the same price that are actually on the run on team and are guaranteed decent minutes. He averaged 20 minutes a game last year is that going to change enough compared to guys starting like Blore, Cartwright, Leiona or w.e. even if you don't like their job security they are starting and can get 1 big score to boost money making before being on the bench. Pele is the same boat. I think you can bank on more starters and if they don't plan out downgrade to either of these guys depending on who gets more minutes off the bench.

Idk the exact reason for the consensus, likely as you mentioned the poor scores - the type that keeps him poor. A punt either way though.
