Not fancy Matto over NAS/Butcher? Think he's more likely to be a season keeper

Short term the 5/8 role I reckon is a negative for him in every category (likely plays 5/8 in 16, possibly 17 if no Moses backup, 19), final round bye also

At full strength my team in R18 should be

    Robson
    Haas Horse Tohu
    Bateman Preston
    SJ Hynes
    Lemeulu (Bird trade in)
    Edwards Ponga Bula

(Hopgood) Liddle/Turpin Walsh (Oloapu trade out)
Manu (R16 MID) Liddle/Turpin (Nikorima trade out)

That's fair enough, think I've decided to hold off on Matto too at least a week. His BE is high enough regardless.

I'm targetting Bird back (for a 3rd time) next round too Laugh 3 Dragons play first RD17 which will help.

Butcher gets my vote over NAS if you need a tie-breaker.

Has really gone under the radar but you can do a lot worse than a guy with dual averaging 52.7 for under 700k.

Worst case if you have to hold him all year the Roosters only have one bye left in 19 and you could do a lot worse as an 18th man for a full strength team.

    R16: 733 (from 12) (rank 414)

Pros: Finally got Hynes in as C, popular players all delivering
Cons: Edwards with 330m and nothing else, Oloapu attempting to play middle, Billy Smith’s existence, NAS

Trade out options (5 on bye pre trades): Billy Smith, Oloapu, Nikorima
Trade in options: Bird, Yeo/Grant, Cow/cashout

Can't argue with the Yeo & Bird trade ins, who you thinking for the cashout now KHaas is benched?

Well I was hoping the Warriors CTR would continue starting so I could get an extra R19 WFB, which is a no (Ali Leiataua hamstring injury)

Between Jed Cartwright and Sandon Smith, leaning Sandon. Been burnt by every Rabbitohs “cashcow” in existence so happy to wait and see if he starts next week

Yeah really don't think Jed is the answer, trap written all over him. When is SWalker due back? Surely he replaces Sandon sooner or later.

Walsh (missing 18 & 20) & Bird out post TLT

Walsh a trade, tough to figure out what to do with Bird as I have 17 without Bird

Need a cashout (Kris/VTW or Simpkin) main 2 options which frees funds in R20 to do upgrade of Turpin/Liddle in 1 trade

    (2 trades, 231k)

    Grant
    Haas Horse Tohu
    Bateman Preston
    Hynes SJ
    Manu Lemeulu
    Edwards Ponga Bula

    NAS Liddle Turpin Robson
    Walsh SSmith Bird Hopgood

Walsh to Yeo/DiFi seems like a solid play. With 2 trades left it's probably time to focus on the uber-guns, no time like the present to get one of them in. I'd probably wait and see a week on Bird given you can field 19 without him after trading Walsh.

    Down to 9 pre trades

    Liddle
    Tohu Hopgood X
    Bateman Preston
    Hynes SJ
    Lemeulu X
    Bula X X

    Looking at Bird to cashout

Plans in R20 something like Turpin, Liddle, NAS/Bula to Fifita, DCE and X around 500k. If I go for Cleary week 1, probably lose Hopgood/Tohu/Preston and get another cashout

Can also switch around cashout and 500ker this week which probably makes more sense and get someone like Piakura who should provide 30s rest of season. Thinking a Ramien type with high upside for this week but may be EMG at full strength or VTW

Team at full strength next week is
    Grant
    Haas Yeo Horse*
    Bateman Hopgood
    Hynes SJ
    Manu Lemeulu/Ramien
    Ponga Edwards Bula

    Fifita DCE Robson Tohu
    Preston Lemeulu/Ramien SSmith Piakura

    R19: 602 (rank 1020)

Dropped out of top 1k for first top since start of season

Sean Russell was a complete dud compared to every other cashout that went big

Copy from main thread with rough 2 week plan. TLT hasn’t impacted me (except for maybe Harrison Graham as viable cashout compared to Piakura, although Dolphins bye next week)

2 definite trades of Liddle + Turpin to Fifita + cashout

Then need to figure out how to get Cleary + DCE + Cashout (probably Munro) in next 2 weeks (can get DCE this week)

With Sandon Smith getting extra week, could go down to Munro next week. Then 2 players between Hopgood/NAS/Preston/Bula/Robson/Lemeulu noting the cheaper players make budget more difficult and would need a CTR/WFB if I was trading a CTR/WFB unless I start Russell/Munro. Probably Preston and NAS

Would leave my final squad with 3 trades as

    Grant
    Haas Yeo Tohu
    Bateman Fifita
    Cleary Hynes
    Manu Lemeulu
    Edwards Ponga Bula

    DCE SJ Hopgood Horse
    Robson HGraham Russell Munro

286k ITB, 6 trades after Liddle + Turpin to Fifita and HGraham

I can reverse Fifita if out and switch to Cleary if at 24hr cut

Option 1 (Hold Bula as starter and then 18th man)
3rd trade this week Robson to DCE
Next week: Sandon Smith + Preston to Cleary + cashout (Munro/other)
Hold NAS 18th man until returns to MID and then swap to Latrell to get Bula as 18th man

    Pros: DCE heavily underpriced
Cons: Still playing Bula if done as an option

Option 2 (Trade Bula this week)
3rd trade Bula to gun WFB (Garrick/Teddy/Marzhew)
Next week: Preston + Sandon Smith to Cleary + cashout

Pros: If Bula is done as option, likely points upgrade
Cons: Relying on a decent Cleary price drop and SSmith price rise (roughly 50k swing each way)

Looking at your team you're short a reliable wfb option (Manu moves to ctr and only Ponga/Edwards at wfb)

So I'd go option 2 then take your pick of the lot

Camo mate whatever option leaves you the most chance and best route of getting Cleary I would do. If selling Bula to a Teddy for example means it’s harder for you to get Cleary in maybe hold Bula as a 17/18 man looping option?

We are all gonna have to take a cut somewhere I’m treading fine lines like yourself trying to get guns in etc….. and with some players having dropped more cash than we’d like eg Bula it’s making it harder.

For me I might have to miss Harry Grant etc…..

Also what are you gonna do mate if SJ is out due to his partner having the baby? And they have the bye round 22 could you then go SJ to Cleary? I think that’s also worth talking about.

Just doesn’t seem straightforward this weekend I’ve been going back and forth on my trades the last 4 hours and I thought I’d resolved it but I still have not lol!
