    @holymoly @chewie

Cracked open the Metre Eater game from “Santa” to the 7yo this arvo

Was initially confused by the many cards and rules as I’m not much of a board gamer, but once we started playing it was very intuitive as it plays out pretty closely to an actual game of rugby league

    Game 1: robel & 7yo vs Twin B
4-4 at HT before Twin B went full QLD in the 2nd half to run out 18-4 winner

    Game 2 - the rematch!
Another 4-4 halftime scoreline and Twin B scoring 1st after the break seemed like deja vu. But this time the good guys piled on the tries to lead 16-8 at the FT siren  before an arsey 50m kick and regather after the bell by Twin B  made it a more respectable 16-14

Anyway, a good bit of fun once you get into the flow of what all the cards are and when to roll the die. And cool little test match vibes from the felt mat, posts and foam ball. And all the pieces are really high quality, even comes with a scorebook, pencil and pencil sharpener! Would recommend.

That is so good to hear. Thanks for taking the time to describe your matches and the game. I hope there are more battles between you and the kids to come.

I have Covid tested positive today not quite as bad as the first time but it’s still bad. Dry cough, sore throat, headaches, fever, body aches, lethargy, even going up and down the stairs I am out of breath and even having a shower. My Sister has symptoms too not good with her health conditions she hasn’t had it before this is my 2nd time.

It’s all around again in Sydney Covid

Just looking at prices I see potential value in Cotter, Tatola, Grant and Robson, Piakura, Rorters edge, Fog, Campbell, Pap, Curran, Schuster that’s just some early thoughts.

Centre is looking quite dire once again.

Been listening to Talking League TK is keen on Knight I am not, I think I rather Leniu or Baker if they start.

What’s your guys early thoughts from seeing the prices?

I’ll likely have Cleary, Haas and Grant and build my side around that.

Anyone with more than one brain cell is doing that, my current side has those three as well as Hynes, though I may be forced to give up one of them if we don't get as many cheapies as I think we might.

You may want to take your Souths goggles off when it comes to Tatola, he just isn't that good in fantasy.

Tatola averages in the 40s as starting prop, priced at 35 due to injuries last season. Definitely some value there and locked in role. Will likely benefit from Murray and Arrow playing Origin.

I doubt I’ll be touching Grant early on. HOK is a wasteland and early bye https://amateursfantasysports.com/nrl/gametheory/

    HOK Analysis :

I read that article too, we saw last year that even though hooker as a whole was worse than it has been, Grant was light years ahead of anyone else in that position, especially early in the season.
Cook had a late surge to get close in average but as someone who owned him for far too long last year, he was nowhere near as good.

I figure I may as well just lock him in and leave him there all year, and use my trades elsewhere, and try to find someone else to cover that round 4 bye (depending on what Des does with the Titans pack, Chris Randall could be an option with Verrills playing hooker)

Lussick will likely be good value at the Eels. I think he will get an 80 minute role

If he's in the team and Hands is not on the bench I don't mind it, but if they're both there (I think this is far more likely than not) then they're both a no go.

Doubt I'll be starting Grant, I guess I have only one brain cell.

Didn't start him last year either, only brought him in for second half of season when he went to shit. Hooker was a bit of a nightmare all round. Boyd (fine) and Cheese, then Brailey (unlucky), then Robson and Cook on the assumption that at least one of them wouldn't get picked for Origin (whoops). Anyway, was still top 5 after first half of season, and didn't have Hynes either. Point being that you don't need all the positional guns to start with if it fucks up your squad balance and leaves you with a load of dead cows and/or low cash gen. But that's single brain cell thinking.

Fwiw, Robson seems the best hooker option to start currently.

Talk of Flanagan playing some hooker. Seems funny to have Flanagan hooker, with a state of Origin hooker in the halves.

Lots of potential value hookers in the $500k range, some will deliver, hard to know which at this stage:
    Brandon $530k
    Liddle $536k
    Verrills $553k
    Brailey $575k
    Lussick $459k

For team structure it makes sense to grab a couple of them and switch to another in that price range if it looks like there is a better option after the first couple of rounds, than one that you have in your team. No need to spend up to Grant.
