To be honest he’s actually done well the times he’s had to play from the bench if he gets 50+ mins,he just needs to not be 5/8th haha

LATE MAIL: Penrith coach Ivan Cleary has a big decision to make and reportedly is mulling over whether to rest his representative stars Stephen Crichton, Brian To’o, Liam Martin and Isaah Yeo. “We’ve got a system in place and some contingencies around that as well. We’ll make the decisions later,” Cleary said. The Panthers coach is confident though that son Nathan Cleary will return from a hamstring injury. “There’s a pretty good chance (he’ll play) I reckon … he’s tracking really well,” Ivan said on Wednesday. “No, not fast-tracking. This was the weekend that he was always aiming to play in. He’s gone well in his rehab, so we just have to see how the week goes.”

Only days that dont end in Y. The RLPA is a joke, the players don't even know why there is a ban

Who were you looking at trading to Fifita? If it’s Boyd, you can pivot to Cleary/Grant anyway if we hear by 24hr cut as Boyd to Fifita would be 1 trade that you should be able to reverse if on bench
Mate I’m thinking now maybe Brimson to Fifita how does that sound?

    Bula to Edwards
    AJ to M. King
    Brimson to Fifita

Leaves 143k spare. Then hope SJ plays otherwise I can’t go SJ to Cleary in 1 trade I’m 21k short I’d have to get DCE this week.

    Then go…

    Hopgood to Murray
    Robson/Boyd to Grant
    SJ to Cleary next week

If SJ is out this week then as I said get DCE then Preston to Cleary becomes the move next week but burns an extra trade leaving me just 4 left yikes!

Either way I have to sacrifice somewhere and to get Fifita, Edwards, Grant and Cleary ultimately I think I’ll have to sacrifice SJ.

With trading Brimson I still have Lemu, Penis and Manu so Manu can shift to WFB if Teddy or Ponga are out as my only other cover would be Kris.

Thoughts on all this mate? It’s been doing my head in. Been thinking about it the last 2 hours.

Would leave me 4 or 5 trades left and

    Grant
    Haas JDB Horse
    Fifita Bateman
    Cleary Hynes
    Penis Manu
    Teddy Edwards Ponga

    Boyd/Robson Preston/DCE Murray Matto
    M. King Lemu Hands Kris

Then hold tight and hope for no injuries

Pretty unsure what to do this week myself. I have two pretty much locked in trades in Tapine to Yeo and Boyd to Cleary assuming he is good to go.

But then I'm not sure if I should just keep going and go big. There is an option where I make 4 trades this week and 2 next week and then hang on for dear life from there with 3 trades left.

It would involve binning both Null and Bula and I'm really not sure how I feel about each of them, Null in particular. Feels weird trading out a CTR playing 80 at second row. Some poor scoring lately but we also know he can go big. Maybe Penis is a better trade out with the late bye to come...

Does Liddle play out the season as a 50ish min hooker with Sullivan out for the year? Considering keeping Liddle over Bula as my backup hooker and going Robson to DCE...

Sounds all good, similar with Boyd and Brimson you can reverse if Fifita is out as same game/team

If you’re able to, can you check my tracker for my conundrum

I don't think Sullivan being out makes any difference as he appeared to have the halves spot. Mbye has been coming off the bench to spell Liddle the last couple weeks. But yes regardless no reason Liddle shouldn't continue to play at least 50mins at hooker.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone.

It is definitely some pretty basic descriptive analytics, I should probably investigate how useful it actually is though. I thought it was interesting how little the advantage is for the "best" run home, e.g. 2 points per 80 is nothing.

I have built some models using xgboost and a whole bunch of lagged time series features, but didn't think they weren't better than historical PPM x expected minutes.

Some great ideas here, thanks again.
