Yeah I'm a casual viewer of the premiere league so I don't know all of the ins and outs so the template is very helpful.
I think the only player that is somewhat of a differential in my team is Grealish, who I expect to bounce back to 130-150 points this season.

Issue with Grealish is the high rotation risk with City. Sounds like he and Foden might compete a bit, a least to start the season.

5 subs rule means he should at least get some game time each week.

I don't understand the fascination with Archer in the template team. I guess he's just there because he's cheap and lets you get 2 better strikers, but wouldn't want to rely on him at all

With Sterling and Jesus departure I think Grealish has a better outlook rotation wise, so hopefully his minutes will pick up. (See also https://www.fantasyfootballpundit.com/pick-grealish-fpl-2022-23/ )
I have no idea about some of these cheap benchies, I guess there's safety in numbers. I do have a spare 0.5 mil to transfer Archer out if a better option pops up in the next few rounds

If anyone wants to play the sportsdeck EPL version, have created an overall league

    https://sportsdeck.com/epl/dreamteam/?action=join-group&code=267277

And if you do play, and spot a hidden bargain, point it out here

    My team as is

    Mendy (Ward)
    Ake Maguire Gabriel (Dier, Botman)
    Saka Mahrez Havertz Sancho (Pereira)
    Salah Jesus Martial

I play every year because of the forum connection, but I am slipping every year in terms of interest. I love the Epl but find epl fantasy very distant, in terms of player performance and points given, not 100% on how to get across what I mean. It just feels really uninvolved and and.... idk..

Someone sway me ? Lol what a clown hey

I like it for those very reasons, NRLF is pretty all encompassing while EPL feels like a bit of light relief.

I admit you do need a bit of incentive...mine is that I like to beat my brother in law & a few of my soccer mates in a mini comp which I can usually do even if I miss a few deadlines.

On another note have narrowed down the last midfielder spot (8.0 value) to Diaz, Foden or Kulusevski......leaning towards Foden

I kinda want to do double Man C mid range midfield (2 of Foden, Mahrez, Grealish). Probs madness tho and should just get Diaz

I also want to get Wilson instead of Jesus - think if the draw was slightly better for Newcastle would ignore the ownership and pull the trigger.

    Rest of team settled.

Tried Diaz and don't love having both him and Salah...mostly for aesthetic reasons Very Happy

Plus went Kane instead of Haaland....everyone loves a new shiny thing but they don't always work straight away

I'm thinking about it. I don't like spending money on GKP's.

    Yeah I've gone Kane.

I have vibes of Man City beating Bournemouth 7-0 and everyone except Haaland scores

A 4.5 FWD is virtually a red dot, 3rd on the bench, to free up cash for the rest of the squad. Not something that I usually like to do, but I'm going to go with someone like Archer/Greenwood (4.5) as my 3rd FWD, instead of someone like Mbeumo (6.0)/Undav (5.5) ).

I can’t really see a worthwhile use of the 1m saving in my 3 premium draft to fix the structure unless I sell Neco to 5m

I may have succumbed to Jesus FOMO, just realise with LEI 4.0s I can do Ramsdale/Robbo/4.5 FWD to Iversen/White/Jesus which fixes my structure of starting Neco/Andreas

I had Haaland in my initial draft, but now I have Kane. Better the devil you know?

I had Diaz, but I've changed him to another 8.0, so that I can have Robertson as my third Liverpool player (along with Salah and TAA).

Ideally you'd have Son/Salaha + Kane/Haaland, but think there's only really room for 1 of each (3 if you want to really cheap out on the rest of your squad)

I just switched to 5-3-2, I've always liked a good 5-3-2 formation. Maybe that's because I play centre back myself

Yeah I think this is a very common decision that lots of people are stuck on, I have certainly been going between the two a lot.

With my current (very template) team it basically comes down to : Robertson, Mount, Sanchez vs James, Diaz, Ederson

Second option wins out for me on paper but just the slight uncertainty around James playing a lot of RCB that is putting me off a bit.
