It's not really different from NRL FF in that there are similar-ish teams to start. Just there's exponentially more players - when I rego'd on Sunday I was the 4million and something entrant. But just 1 decision can make a huge difference by the end.

I got a team I was relatively happy with but had 2 mil leftover. Now team feels worse having spent the extra on players a bracket higher

Back to the drawing board I think

Think I'm down to picking between these two combinations

Ederson, James, Diaz, Kane vs Sanchez, Robertson, Kulusevski, Haaland

Back to the drawing board I think

Yeah I've had 1-2M in the bank with some tinkering. I really think the pricing for the elite defenders and 8m mid range makes it pretty easy to make a good team without a lot of compromise.

You could easily have TAA 8.5, Robbo/Cancelo 7.5 and James/Chilwell 6.5 and people would still want them

Diaz 1m less than Darwin, when he's more likely to play and MID get extra points for goals and CSs makes no sense. All the Man City mids other than KdB being in the 7-8m seems a bargain, even with "rotation risks". 6m for Martinelli seems 1m under value.

Barely anyone is priced between 8m and 11.5m - why not use the full range of numbers?

Complain about FanHub but them seem to put more effort into prices, prizes etc. than the FPL game does when played by millions

I think the pricing has worked exactly as intended

Casual logs on and wants all their favourite players

Salah, TAA, Cancelo. Oh I can have Saka and Mount as well? Give me a premium keeper? Big name striker?

As always the game is gonna be won by picking the runs of form among similar priced players

You could reasonably have any of Mount, Saka, Maddison, Dias, Mahrez, Foden, Kulu and expect them to do well depdning on fixtures

Good idea in principle but there's no logic to how it flows through in practice.

Just spotted it's a Friday night season kick off...they are usually my bette noir as I never remember and then do my trades not realising it's for the following weeks round.

It does seem relatively easy to get a bunch of premo players this year but as has been pointed out it's the bolters who make the difference at the start of the year

I need to do some more research to find the hidden gems.
Instead of picking from the popular 20 players on the interweb

Nope deadline for the week locks 1.5hr before 1st game (3:30AM Saturday) and 1st teamlist comes out 1hr before

The template/popular team is very good on paper this season but to get press conference quotes that come out Thursday/Friday follow FFS Scout on Twitter or Reddit FantasyPL

    Other tips:
Price changes not based on performance but based on relative transfers and can happen daily after deadline - fplstatistics.co.uk best website
1 transfer each week and -4 points for everything over that
Save chips except Wildcard (and maybe Triple Captain) until late in season

Also note that if you sell you only get half the profits (rounded down)

if you buy someone for $5mil and sell them when they are at $5.5mil, you only get $5.2m for your efforts.

And as camo said, price changes happen daily once the season starts, so you have to be quick to offload poor performers and jump on bandwagons if you want to maximise cash flow.
