I don't love the idea of trading Difi if it can be avoided, but would probably do the same. Same ins for me (and plenty of others I assume) with Mahoney and Lolo out.

I’ve actually already changed my mind. Just Angus to Jones to raise bank.

This is in mine with policy of one trade a week if I can field a decent 17, and BEs aren’t wild enough to warrant rushing someone in.

If Cleary brains it, I buy him next week for Fifita. If Fifita brains it as well, I’ll have more questions.

I think the change in trades available later in the year will put huge pressure on teams down the track with people not budgeting properly. So the more saved now the better

    100% this.

how many injuries does Reynolds get a season, Albert isn't a spring chicken and the utility role could see him cover half/hooker if someone gets injured mid game.

Walters is the last guy i am flicking at this early stage 0 Broncos results might mean Albert gets parked up. Sure there is also Gamble, but I think Walters is first cab off the rank.

I guess someone else summed him up a while ago, in that u could just take the 100k rises so far which isn't to bad, and leapfrog to another. Could be bias, but Kelly looked like he thinks the spot is his now and sat back after round 1.

If there was ever a time for Sexton to bang out a 70+ surely it's this round.

    Either

    1. Cleary now
    Mahoney + Burton -> (C)leary + Jones

    2. Cleary next
Mahoney + Bully -> Jones + Fermor/Gilbert or cheaper, Cleary bank for 1-2 weeks

    3. Cleary never*
    Mahoney + Bully -> Hynes + Jones
    *well a bit later

    That's my week of thinking.

I should, his previous two rounds were very close to what was wanted. It's more 'the search', for someone to ladder up to Cleary. I do have 250k so a double trade does it easy this round.

There is Hudson, Debellin in the same ballpark though.

U pressing on with him ?

Probably. I only have 12K and he's a MID so probably should hold. I'm thinking maybe gunning for a round 13 team also, but I'll have a look later when I get some time. Hoping he can punch out a 55 this week. Minutes definitely aren't an issue for him.

Kurt Capewell is battling a calf problem and has been listed among the reserves.

That’s a kind TL for Welshy with Tuilagi named again, hopefully see some semi decent games in near future to get price rolling again.

When I get into work wouldn’t mind someone casting an eagle eye over squad to see if there’s a way to generate enough cash with trades this week to get enough for Cleary without losing Cook or DFifi.

    Cheers

I'M doing the same thing but with Mahoney, going Mahoney to Jones or Starling and then making the Cleary desicion next week with some more information while not missing out on starling or Jones whoever I get ins rises.

Captain Fifita has been a letdown the last couple of rounds and I’m well aware of the matchup this week, but I think I’m gonna chance my arm on captaining a player on a team whose had two very tough games the last couple, but should definitely fire up against some lesser competition. I expect this player to have two tries and a try assist(or vice versa) and six tackle breaks by halftime. We are playing fantasy here, so let me have mine. Laughing

On the flip side, the last time I captained someone on this team, it played out poorly.

Any advice on ways to get Cleary in?

I'm selling Bully and Coates for May and Jones this week, which leaves me with $223k bank and the following side.

    Randall
    Haas, Ipap, JKing
    Nanai, Tago
    Munster, Clifford
    Critta, B Smith
    Teddy, Papy, Hynes

    MKing, Schneider, Jones, May

    Thompson, Penisini, Tuilagi, Vailea

My current plan is to sell Clifford to Cleary next week, which means I will need 400-450k in the bank depending on how Clifford goes. With 223k already in the bank, that means I need to raise 200-250k off the 2nd trade next week in order to get Cleary in.

I've got a shortlist of candidates to be sold for the second trade, but none of them are particularly good

    * M King - probably need a 220k-240k cash cow for this to work, he hasn't made quite enough and if he has a big game this week, he won't be worth selling just yet.

    * J King - he may lose minutes this week with Grant back, but still has room to grow, so I'm hesitant to sell him this early

    * Critta - Losing goal kicking will make him peak I would think, but he probably isn't ready to go.

    * Randall - only possible if we get a cheap hooker that's playable, so highly unlikely

    * Teddy - If he has another down game, it may be worth cashing him downward to someone in the 400-450k range

    I agree with your assessment.

If Walters is the only issue left in someone's team, they are on the pig's back.

Be bloody great if this early on we have the 'luxury' of a Walters trade - he will get pushed eventually but is my no20 for now.

    Tago, Penisini
    Pappy, Hynes (c), S. Crichton

    Randall, Mann, Nanai, B. Jones
    Leo, B. Smith, Ilias, Vailea
