Yes, its a genuine part of the strategy.

It relies on not having any shittos in your NPR, because if Cleary is your captain, his score gets replaced by the lowest positive score in your 18-25.

(Potentially) no point getting Haas's score doubled if you get a 12 as AE instead of 40 something from whoever would have been 17th man instead of Cleary.
If your VC goes completely nuts (150 or something) then its probably worth it, but if they get around 100, there's generally as much chance of losing points as gaining them

To do it properly, you assemble a team of 18 genuine scorers and the rest guaranteed red dots, so you can be comfortable you don't lose much by taking an AE, but there is much risk involved there.


It works much better in Sportsdeck A-League, where AEs only replace like for like position, so you can force who your AE is to some degree and there is opportunity for fairly risk free loopholing (especially as the 11 team comp means there is always a team on the bye for potential looping)

As for eliminating it if they wanted to. Like the loophole in Fantasy, it seems they prefer keeping it around as it increases clicks on the site during the weekend as people logon constantly to see if they need to change their team.

Ah, OK, I see. So it wouldn't be Moses' score I'd get, but my biggest spud. Interesting. I'll have a play around with it.

I don't think so, because Drinkwater should do extra organising with Morgan out, plus his price is going up heaps more than Williams if BEs are correct

I kept expecting Rd 3 to get shut down again. Finally motivated myself to look at my team and picked up the 2 players I was targeting anyway and threw in an extra dud for good measure.

What do people use as their magic number for taking a VC score? I presume Haas' 78 isn't enough and people will roll the dice with Lolo?

Unless you're confident your AE is going to be close to whoever your 17th man would be, 78 is a long way off looping for me

I'm torn between Tolo's probable 90+ tonight or Turbos 50 - 200 against the dogs.

I'm definitely staying with Tolo. I feel like it's highly possible he outscores Haas.

On a side note, I'm struggling to keep up with the scoring differences between this, fantasy and Vdst. They all seem so different. In some cases in SC it looks like you get a bonus 10-15 points for stepping on the field, but then Haas actually scored lower in SC than Fantasy. When barely a soul around him did. Confusing for a simple person like me. It's all pretty relative, but I noticed Hopoate got something like 38 in SC and I'm all like, cool, thanks... But what for??

This site has the breakdown for every player if you want specific info. Stats become active as each match begins, but last night is there now.

Well the scoring is completely different. Have you had a look?

Attacking stats are more handsomely rewarded in SC.

I've been reading that chasing money is not as important in this shortened season, and trades are plentiful. Habits are hard to break, and I always chase $$$ in Round 3.
What do you think? Are you looking at BEs and trading accordingly?

Yeah, I've read the scoring for all but I haven't retained the info as well as I have for Fantasy. My head is primarily in Fantasy but I guess with time and a bit more concentration I'll get the hang of SC scoring too.
