Shouldn't have been on the field but shouldn't have been a penalty try. Balance is restored.

If the Sharks don't get the penalty try Lee would have got binned, they likely score with him off and maybe win the game. Scoring a try could well have cost them the game scratch

my thoughts re the penalty try:

    1. Belters like blocker saying he has to be 100% certain help breed ref faulters, commentators need to know the fucking rules. the rule doesn't say 100%, it says that in refs opinion a try would have been scored. i personally think we should see more penalty tries then we have in the past

    2. Last night however was probably not a great example, that big bounce to the right made it seem unlikely he would have scored imo

    3. in saying that, at the time i said to myself, i wonder if cronulla would rather a man in the bin. i know a guranteed try is still the better odds play but if they score that set anyways and then still have 9 minutes against 12 men, that could have been huge and in hindsight they probably would have been better off lol.

knights defense not being the worst in the comp may make me re-think where i had them, its only round 1 but that was a pretty clear improvement on last year defensively

Cameron murrey > victor radley imo, Radley is a nutter and pulls of some belters but murrey is brilliant all round, so much stronger then he looks

It clearly should have been a binning and not a PT.. the ball rolls to the right and away from him nearly instantly. He may have scored and was denied the opportunity but Jeez, Watson wasn't far off and the ball was rolling away.

The tap over the head was the correct call. Cant intentionally tap it forward like that.

Was a fairly shit game for the most part I thought. Cronulla bombed 3/4 tries but with bad timing out to their right edge. Doooougs not passing it cost them a certain try. They will click and will be very very hard to beat IMO. Was good seeing gallen drop it at the end, fuck him.

As I suspected, the games last night were refereed totally differently to the first game. There were that many penalties in the ruck for holding down and niggling, whereas on Thursday players were allowed to do whatever they wanted. The difference was as clear as day to me.

I still dont like Ponga at 6... he looked prob the least dangerous he ever has last night, with Watson being nothing more than an OK player. I would love for us to go after a good 6 so that we can put ponga back to fullback. I wouldn't hate us trying Mann at 6 instead of hooker. Push Watson to the bench hooker and utility back role that he is best suited to.

I am loving the Knights forward pack. In the past we have had bench quality players starting and playing big minutes. Now we have quality on the bench and starting. I like sione, but he is just too small to be a full-time first grade starting back-rower IMO.

Also they stopped play so Woods could get his head taped... fuck me dead refs, use ur new rules. Should have been moved to the side and play continue.
