Also why all the Paul Vaughan love?

What is he going to do at the Dragons that he couldn't do at the raiders?

Those are the average minutes of the top 10 fantasy averages last year (not counting Drew Hutchison)

Only 5 out of 10 were 80 minute players.
(Smith, JFriend, Mannering, Bodene and Cordner)

Others (Fifita, James, De Belin, Graham, Merrin) were all given spells every week. (JDB I guess an edge case because he became an 80 minute player in the run home which is where his scores started sky rocketing)

Just something to keep in mind, as in pre-season everyone seems to value someone playing 80 minutes over someone who play less but scores more points.

    Thanks for the wisdom...

    Here's my first draft...

    Smith, Cherrington
    Graham, Gurgess, Prior, nuffy
Buhrer, Capewell, Lane, Arrow, Butcher, nuffy
    Cleary, Norman, Nona, Elgey
    Hurrell, Milne, Whare, Idris
    Hayne, RTS, Holmes, Slater, nuffy

I'll need to do some tinkering on the 2nd row, but hey I still have about 40 draft variations to burn through Stoned

I liked the part where Milchcow asked a question but answered the question before I had the opportunity to guess the correct answer. Reminds me of my ex girlfriend.

I made sure the answer was on the next page in the thread.

Unfortunately it appears my attempt at some humour at my ex girlfriends expense has failed. She is familiar with the terminology of PPM however (penises per month). If her figures were translated to Fantasy she would no doubt be selected as everyone's starting hooker.

I guess it's the same answer people are picking Jarrod Wallace. I just think he is a marque signing for the dragons, Mose masoe knee setback, JDB broken wrist, frizzell ongoing back injury that will be managed. In games last year when Paul Vaughan played more the 40 minutes, of these games he averaged 47 points in 44 minutes. I think he will get 45 plus minutes and will score just shy of 50 points. Just a hunch.

That looks you'll get pretty risky 17  to me.

    Also random stat.
Anyone know what these numbers represent

    80
    54
    59
    68
    76
    78
    61
    65
    77
    77

I am pretty sure I remember you saying this last year, whilst I agree somewhat I think this is only the case for attacking middle forwards.

If they score a lot of their points through tackle breaks/offloads etc then they need to be well rested to ensure they are effective when on the field and not too tired from all the defensive work. I can see this is most obvious for Fifita and possibly Merrin.

But I think to start the year there is less risk in picking a McGuire type over say a taumolo, as i think his minutes will increase (and scores most of his points in tackles and run metres).

And the same goes for hookers, cam smith is the least risky hooker, not only does he pretty much score points in every category he plays 80. Sure he may come down in price but it might not be worth the hassle.

It's a balance of saved trades, points and cash building which I think is going to be a lot harder this year due to cap and the fact injured players from last year like slater and what're have been marked up so much.

Pretty keen on Vaughan as well. Thing is when Milchy says something like that it generally means he has seen something in his stats bank that we will all see a bit later when he posts them up. From memory I thought Vaughan had limited minutes the last 2 years but had a couple of bigger minute games for great scores? Again, probably wrong and will see when Milchy releases his Team Planner. (Hate to assume you are just going to give it too us Milch but you always do).

IMO, picking up someone due to "increased responsibility" is like picking someone because they've been training the house down.

I like Vaughan as a player, but just can't see massive fantasy value

I haven't paid much attention to the Dragons. Is there a chance he goes back to a starting backrower?

I haven't looked at the FRF rotation in detail at the dragons, does anyone have an idea what minutes the starters got last season?

With mike cooper gone I think he will fill this 50 minute slot, an extra 12 mins from memory. Should improve by at least 5 points on average. Priced at 40.

Anyone taking Wallace please explain why? I would rather gurgess if fit

Don't do it to yourself. I meant Jarrod Wallace. What's the upside here? Who will play lock for the Titans?

Yeah I know you meant Jarrod but I agree if you gonna gamble Gurgess has more appeal, though I like J Wallace as a player.
