I'm running with 1 gun and 3 cows in the halves for now, it is a risk but fortune favours the brave they reckon

Well I don't expect the other 12 starters to fail, I mean they could but I don't want to invest in picks that are likely to fail. A fail could happen to those mid-priced backs too I imagine. I was mainly asking if having 8 players from 9 in the CTR/WFB position being too much of a JS/cash risk.

Doesn't make sense that 5 Knights players would make their NRL debut come round 1 unless Pauli Pauli, Mataora and Paea are all injured or not playing. Then again I don't know much about the Knights prop rotation...

Sorry wasn't clear in my post. Wasn't meaning that the other starters fail, was meaning what if the cheap backs fail. Every year you get guys like Nabuli and Lee who appear as a cash cow and are in a lot of teams, but ultimately fail.

The cheap option you have suggested gives you no depth at the back and you are using the saved cash elsewhere. Odds are that some of those cheapies fail and because you rely on them as a scorer or in rotation with other cheapies, you force yourself into a downgrade and trades from your guns in order to fix it immediately. And then what if the mid rangers like I suggested struggle as some on here have said in their arguments against the likes of Fergo. You have to do a massive downgrade to fix your struggling backs.

While you want some cheapies, you don't want to overload in one position as if it goes wrong then everything will crash and burn

@Speedball, 1 gun and 3 cheapies for me.
I agree with what you say about Pearce and would like to hear his penalty prior to rd 1, however with the money you save on 3 cheapies, you make up elsewhere.
For mine, you take the best value cheapies no matter what position, within reason, and muscle up in other positions.
There's also the option if TMM gets his debut around rd 6, that you could downgrade one half to him, and upgrade another with the cash already made.

Thoughts on the Newcastle hooker situation? The rugby league team that is.

league 2 should be a walk in the park. can't see anyone threatening in that league.
