WTF ? I was playing some team called Penny's Panthers or something similar in the eliminator, so i changed my team to win that match up.

Then, when i log in for the game, I'm playing Lion Red Legends, who will smash me by 130 points regardless of any changes i could make.

If i had know about the change of opponent, i would have saved my trades and just concede.

Same deal mate. I had a team that could barely field 13 cos they had a heap of Eels and now have a team with a full 17 and not a single Eel (it's an average 17 mind you). I'll be emailing VSDT, if for nothing but an explanation. My Eliminator ranking was 600 and something but now it's 1100.

Lion Red Legends I think is actually an old Sportal posters team by the way I think.

Same but I received a much easier match-up in fairness

It looks like they have changed the rules for a 3rd time.

The 1st time was when they decreased the entries from 8000 to 4000 (presumably to avoid the byes due to numbers ala last year)

The 2nd was they were using the first 4000 entries registered (not the top 4000 rankings after Round 12 as initially stated)

Now the rules have changed again to be the first 4000 rankings after Round 12.

My new eliminator opponent has 21 out of 25 slots filled by eels and dogs players.

He's only named 14 this week, and 2 of those are Eels players.


More importantly, who are the good cashouts at the moment.
I have Mataora, Holland and Dugan to bring out. but pretty much $0 spare cash so need to downgrade someone before I can bring someone in.

I was struggling to remember his name but yep, you're right, it was LRM.  Not a bad memory for an old bloke  .

Speaking of which, and as an old bloke as well , you were BlueOz back in the day on Sportal right?  I think you changed to quicksand around 2012 just after I joined?

Forgot about eliminator mine and the mrs team both have elimantor rankings both in the 70s after decent scores last week playing teams ranked 2300 odd and I think we are going to get toweled up in both

Coming off bye rounds as ranking results stuffs it up a bit, but at least they are not playing it through the next 2 major bye rounds. I'm trading just to get through this week, but that's easy for me as I'm no chance at Overall.

Most of us getting different opponents than we were advised and a lot of them getting shit rankings last week and are going to gun it this week !!

I do think they just changed the way they were seeding the initial match ups.  From what I can work out the teams/rankings changed because they changed the "eligible teams" criteria from the first 4000 odd registrations at the start of the year, to the first 4000 odd ranked teams after Round 12.  

They have used both of the above ways to rank Eliminator teams in the past.  The difference this year is they seemed to have changed the eligibility a couple of times WITHIN the season.  That is not on in my book.  Particularly when they change it a day after 1st acceptances.

I don't think they have manipulated entries; I just think they have changed the eligibility across the board.  The fact they have done that on the last day of the 1st week of Eliminator suggests they copped a shitload of emails after the seedings came out yesterday-as the seedings that came out yesterday were not in line with the original rules.

Sticking solid with Rule #1 until team lists are out.

Is Matterson the best option for a half downgrade that plays in Rd 15?
