Was disappointing that Haas went to sleep on Bateman but that will happen to a young guy some times.

Line speed is definitely an issue. I think that as a whole, both edges have lost confidence in the man either side of them.

The good teams that have small halves compensate for that by working hard for each other. We are often all over the shop because of one reason or another, be it lack of communication, confidence, a combination, etc.

We always seem to be retreating in defense on our edges and it makes it so easy for attacking teams to roll down either side.

I agree with this. Throwing a rookie into 7 would hurt us more in the short term than it would help. Why where's Alfie going ? He leads the team around the park for the first 4 tackles till he has to come off. Your current halves can't organise 2 tackles. How can it hurt more than that ?

The young guys we have aren't leading their teams around the park in Q CUP. Alfie doesn't play QLD Cup.

Dearden may be the long term solution but he's played 3 games of Q cup. Its not the time to throw him in the deep end. We have players all over the park that need to lift their games (Isaako, Oates, Glenn, Macca, Boyd, Gillett (to an extent), Roberts, Bird, etc) Could be they're all treading water till Seibold punts them and replaces them with his own players next year.

Looking good at half time. On a separate note, I know he’s injured but Johnson is on his phone in the dressing room during the match. I thought that was a no no.

Game went pretty much as I expected honestly and I don't usually expect us to thrash a team. Cronulla obviously had some bad luck with injuries but we still had to turn up (major problem for us) and we did just that.

Massive game next week and we need to back it up or last night was pointless.

will be interesting to see who comes in for Nikorima or if boyd is moved. He would have recieved a big offer to go over there, but what position does he play there? His best position is clearly bench hooker.

Nikorima news seems oddly timed to me. "may of played his last game", but also the Warriors haven't even made an offer? Sounds like a media rumour. Don't reckon its happening, at least in the short term. Dearden may be the future but he's also very young, and letting go of Nikorima right now would leave us pretty thin in case of injuries.

I really don't see how he fixes any of the Warriors issues.

If Media report of Niko being offered 500k/yr by the Warriors, almost double what he’s on at the Broncos are true, then he’s a bargain we should keep. $250k-$300k for an international bench hooker with spark is great value.

That's spot on. Compassionate grounds ? Home sick ? Why let him go ?

because they use him as a halfback, and he is a shit halfback?
If they used him as a hooker from the bench, I would agree with you

I think we've done the right thing by letting him go, since he's got a better offer and it will allow him to keep playing 80 minutes a week. That wasn't going to happen with us.

He was given more than time than most, to prove himself as a suitable 7. Admittedly, that was through lack of a better option, but it is what it is.

Apparently he wasn't going to be the 7 next year so I'm happy to let him go now. Finally the club comes to their senses and realizes he's not good enough.

600k a season for him is hilarious.

Not sure how well the Niko situation has been handled but in the end and based on our plans going forward, probably best for both parties to part ways.

On that note; did anyone else read Peter Badel's 3 part series about the Broncos/Bennett/Siebold/Souths debacle?

I know full well not to believe every news piece I read but Badel is normally a fairly decent journo and it was pretty interesting reading to be honest.

I was pretty dirty at the time we let the best coach ever to have ever picked up a clipboard and donned a whistle go like we did.....but I'm even dirtier now.

similar the chammas piece on the Penrith Debacle, you can tell that in both cases the Journo's have spent a lot of time investigating what went down, inclined to believe that in both cases its pretty reliable to believe both stories and both were great reads, rugby league could do with more of this type of stuff rather then the constant baseless rumor mill and game bashing 90% of the media puts out there

i mean the mole just takes the piss now, has an article yesterday morning that broncos are gonna shake things up by moving Su'a to hooker for tonights game, sound crazy ? well crazy enough to get clicks i guess but he was then one of the 2 names to drop out of the 21 man squad last night lol
