Is Jennings even good? Or was he just a product of being on the end of a red hot left hand side attack last year?

I'll go with this theory. I don't think he is any better than either Nofa or Thompson. These 2 can make something out of nothing, can't say I remember Jennings doing anything outstanding. Maybe I never watched him close enough, I can only remember him by the amount of tries he's scored.

I will be putting cash on Corey Oates for top try scorer this year..
I duno, he just came out of nowhere. Scored a shit load of tries and then the club didnt really make him a priority to re-sign... signing blokes from other sides and signing guys who couldnt get a start last year.
Its just odd.

As part of the NRL's final determination, it can be revealed the fine will be halved ($375K) and the salary cap penalty ($639K) will be spread over two seasons rather than just rolled into 2019. That means the Tigers won't have to shed any players and the latest arrival, former Rabbitoh Robert Jennings, will be part of a salary cap-compliant squad for this year.
The news is also positive for Pascoe. His provisional deregistration was open ended, raising fears he could be wiped out of the game permanently. However, his ban will end after six months, backdated to December 19. That means Pascoe will be free to return to the Tigers from June 19.

from the outside, this looks more like the NRL making sure the precedent is enough of a deterrent then the NRL thinking they knowingly cheated. the penalty seems fair now.

Didn't Thurston just sign on for being an ambassador for Cowboys. If he did, I didn't read anything to indicate it would come out of the Cowboys salary cap

The problem wasn't that they tabled him an offer for the ambassador role, the problem is they didn't disclose the offer to the NRL.

Partially yes but it's the loophole which is the joke. Offer it before while still contracted, it's included as future earnings. eg. you paid less this year while playing to top it up next year when your wife is waxing players legs. Wait a month on a wink and a handshake agreement and $1M becomes part of your business structure and has nothing to do with the cap.

Well I know that was only a trial but it didn't fill me with the confidence of having a successful season.
As for the Farah debacle, I just can't get my head around the fact he hasn't accepted the role yet and until he does and gets a wage from it then Tigers should not have to pay for it out of their salary cap, even if the Tigers did inform the NRL.

I didn't mind that, the reggies looked good. Madge showed what he thinks of trials when we had the session with the dogs. I'll take the optimistic route and say he thinks we're ready to go and there's no need to put in without two points on the line

We played it like an opposed session. They could have strolled in out wide any set of six. It was kilometers in the legs for some and combinations for others.

Barry O'Farrell (former NSW Premier) will replace Marina Go
Isn't he a Tigers supporter and had something to do with the Tigers a few years ago, or am I thinking of someone else?

He's definitely a Tigers supporter but I don't remember him having anything to do with the club before.

He sounds familiar because his name was floated when Marina got the gig
