For the 2024 season NRL Fantasy has been updated in the following ways:
Salary Cap reduced to $10M (in line with the real world club cap – it was reduced in ‘Covid-affected’ seasons),

I have to admit that this has me scratching my head

Salary Cap reduced to $10M - Salary cap was $10M last year? (what's the reduction??)

in line with the real world club cap - Huh? The real world club cap was $11.45mil last year for the top 30 squad. I assume that stays or goes up in 2024?

I mean, you're not wrong, that's what they've said and it's fine, but the surrounding statements seem a bit strange

Fanhub are pretty lazy. Mostly they keep the text of the rules the same and just change the numbers. They've also had references to AFL fantasy in the NRL rules in the past.
Was the cap reduced in any recent season, I'd guess they put that text in once then never changed it.

It seems there is a poetry in their lack of attention to detail being mirrored by my lack of attention to detail to have never noticed before...

Anyway, I guess the main takeaway is no-one can afford a Cleary-Hynes-Haas combo (unless you're a Manly fan and like to spend 50% of your cap on a few players and fill the remainder of your squad with basement price former Tigers benchies)

The other thing of note is that we remain at 21-man squads (as expected) with the same number of trades and the same trade 8 trade top-up at Round 20.
Additionally the same 13 active player restriction for the bye rounds.

I think they could've improved things a little simply by removing the bye-round restriction, but on the whole, I think it's fair enough to repeat last year's balance of having a good volume of total trades (44) while still requiring careful trade management across the season.

There is no way this mockingbockingwilly RU guy is gonna be on peanuts at the Rorters pull my other leg whilst you’re at it would be in the vicinity of double 250k easily.

I’m with Robelgordo I’ve had a  gutful they were gonna be releasing one of Suaali or Angus early how convenient they’re now staying along with JWH and Tupou. Apparently JWH has taken a pay cut from 800k to 250k again that’s like cmon man like people are gonna believe that enter Uncle Nick. Then I thought we’ll surely Connor Watson will go too and then they keep him and all they’ve released is cheap as chips players the price of a Family Feast from KFC and they still have to replace those players. Plus they’ve addded Dom Young and Leniu that’s another 1 mil combined. Yeah right many can see it’s not adding up! Total bullshit but nothing new I hate these filthy rotten latte sipping scum cheats from Bondi more and more each year I know the feeling is mutual too…… look at their roster on paper no way it’s under the cap no way at all! If they aren’t top 2 with that roster it’s a massive fail.

And yes I’m grumpy and more fired up than usual we are moving house today I’m just sitting down for a minute it’s been a nightmare didn’t get to bed at all last night. I’ve done my back in a bit too which isn’t good.
The feeling isn't mutual, I care very little about South Sydney.

My plan since the season ended is a Cleary Haas Grant core and work around that

I really have no idea whether it's plausible or not.
No doubt it will depend on how many basement priced rookies TLT throws up in February

It does leave a $395k average across the remaining 18 players though...

Brad Parker managed to almost break $400k, so it seems there's a chance it pays off.

But then Brad Parker also isn't known for racing out of the line to tackle air dust - maybe Siebs will fix that habit

Aside from the usual suspects being thrown around on social media I quite like 2 "bargain" middles Adam Elliott and Matt Lodge. Elliott shouldn't have to share minutes too much with Mann moving on (maybe Crossland ends up in this role?) so hoping he can get back to 49 points 55 minute average he had at Canberra back end of 2022. Lodge is a wildcard but showed capable of 50 average in his limited stint at Manly. Maybe he times the meltdown well and skips a few byes as well with his midseason club change this year
