I mentioned this at the end of last night, but it was a serious question. Anyone know what happened to Mitch Rein? Couldn't find anything on Google or the Casualty Ward. I assume he's not even in the Eels top 30? As an Eels fan, I would far prefer him to Hodgson or Hands.

I didn't hate the Hodgson signing at the start of the year, assuming he could stay fit. But completely agree with all the commentary on him - just doesn't look anything like the player he used to be. Sad to see. Rein isn't Harry Grant or Damien Cook, but I don't actually mind him.
Hodgson was brought in to mentor Hands, I guess the coaching staff was hoping that Hodgson would still be playable for at least 50mins, but it looks like Hands will need to take on more minutes as the Englishman is struggling

Crossland keeping a decent role moving forward? I'll have Haas and 4 Storm players out next week. Thinking I do a Warbrick to Crossland trade today. Play him over Warbrick too. Might be a bit reactionary though.

Yeah, is there an easy way to count the number of teams with Haas/Katoa/Loiero/Grant/Warbrick?

450 of the top 5000 teams to start the round had all five. The highest ranked team of them at 10th.

Katoa and Warbrick were already very popular trade outs this week which the above doesn't account for. i'm guessing if you had four storm players a lot would have moved at very least one this week.

Haas caused the injury no doubt, but it wasn't a standard hip-drop. Mark from Amateurs posted a good video this morning on the proper definition of a hip-drop and IMO Haas's tackle doesn't fall under what they have defined.

As for suspension, 2 weeks is an easy trade out. 1 week and I probably hold.
Haas was charged with grade 2 dangerous contact, did they actually say it was a hipdrop in the charge? If so, he probably has a case, if not, he probably doesn't have a case.

Well I wouldn't say 1 week is quite being in deep shit, agree that Haas has a case but it never seems worth fighting it, seems so rare to get anything overturned.

Imo it’s a big case of RCG’s injury = suspension

If he didn’t get injured, Haas doesn’t get cited. Or it’s a grade 1

I’d challenge it personally, but don’t think Broncos will cause it’s legit a lottery

Hmmm...only about 9% with all 5. Warbrick to Crossland seems kinda sensible.

I don't think they sub-categorise it as a hip-drop - they just leave it as dangerous contact, has more flexibility for the prosecution and if it fits the vibe of the signals of a hip-drop tackle then that's what they'll present the case as.

It might not have had the classic hip-drop twist, but I think you're probably going to fall foul of the judiciary anytime you drop your weight (especially when you weigh towards 120kg) from an upper-body tackle that results in all your body weight landing on another player's leg(s) via your arse/hips without your feet/knees bracing the impact.

I'd rather have Haas running out in my team next week, but it is what it is imo and I get why everyone is going to have their own viewpoint on it

    288/4c

Traded Carty out for Manu last minute on pure gut feel that Carty was done whether he was starting or not. So far seems like the right call.

Only Preston, Alamoti, Miller and Phoenix today.

Early thoughts next week one of Loiero/Katoa to JDB. Probably Loiero. I still think Katoa can go higher once the Storm start hitting their straps.

Yeah JDB on the radar if he can back it up. Wasn’t convinced enough after 1 week that’s his role straight away

I’m also considering pulling the pin on Murray early… he was a trade out in R13 anyway due to Origin but might speed up that process.

I’ve heard he was very precocious

Surprised wighton hasn’t been spoken about going to union. He would destroy inside centre.

Murray got an 87 a couple of weeks ago. Just saying.

Surely he doesn't play 80 every week but if he's getting 60min+ then he's value, especially playing the bye.

Yeah I would wager a large portion of teams up the top had all 5 of those guys.

I personally had four before trading this week, and have sold Katoa so now I have three. I'm most likely selling Loiero to Horsburgh next week (I need MID cover and he appeals to me the most out of the guys in that price range), and if there's a decent cheapie for Warbrick I'll sell him too. I may potentially only have Haas as a red dot next week if I go ahead with selling both Loiero and Warbrick, but if there's no good cheapie then I will hold Warbrick.

I'm hoping I can get a big jump on the teams around me next week since I have Cook and almost all of them have Grant.
