I can't get over Carty's random kicks he used to do into the in goal. I recall he essentially lost that game for the Eels a couple years ago against the Dragons when he came on for iPap.

Doorey's on Lane's edge, right? Is that where he played in the trials? Might be that he's filling in for Lane and Carty actually has iPap's vacant edge? We know Carty can play 80 mins, albeit poorly.
Pretty sure he was on the other edge when Lane broke his jaw, so Doorey had the Ipap EDG.... But Carty also had a broken jaw so couldn't trial.

Carty got Lanes spot. Doorey has the right edge and will play there.

I'm staying away from Doorey because he's a plodder, just doesn't pass the eye test the way a guy like Preston does.

I hate owning plodders in my team, even if they're good Very Happy

The no gun WFB is awfully tempting isn't it? That was the way I was going until Milchy pointed out the juicy R1-12 prospects of Latrell. Also if you take a look at the Warriors backs you might vomit.

The absolute balls out gambler play is to start with Teddy, enjoy his scores and price rises in the Dolphins and Warriors games and trade to Cleary for Round 4. Anyone going to do this? Could also try this with Sam Walker if you're a *real* gambler.

I mentioned seriously considering this in my team tracker most recent post.

I don't really see the appeal when there are other edges for the same price who are actually starting

I won't, because I remember people captaining Tedesco in R1, 2018 because he had an easy game against the Tigers. 29 Fantasy points later people realised sometimes its safer to play the odds than trust the fixtures

Doorey/Carty look like they'll get at least 3 weeks each, and Carty just looks so much more likely to score points than the Door.
Despite the memeness of it now, the Carty Party originated in fact

There's also Preston, if tyou trust he gets enough games time.

The middie edges just look tempting this year. I'd love Garner, EKatoa, Loeiro, EButcher, Hopgoodbut there's just not room in the team for all of them

EKatoa and Hopgood locked in I think and then have to work out who I can fit in of the others

I'm currently running with all of these + Ford and Doorey. This has me wondering if I'm doing it wrong...

Just had a peep at 2022 R4 and 5 when Lane was out with an injury. Matterson filled in for Lane in that position for 2 weeks. Seems logical that Matterson will slot back there once back from suspension until Lane returns? Carty is a bad player, but is Doorey any better? Did he pass any eye test at all during trials? What was his fantasy score like?

Someone posted that nrl physio had 2 good sources that the injury could be longer.

Never a good sign when the teams star player isn't named with a chance of playing this week and a late out, often means they aren't close to being right.

I am going with Trindall, upside potential is amazing if he is out a few weeks or either Moylan or Kennedy were unavailable for any reason, I would expect him to be first cab off the rank.

What's the consensus on Keppie? On paper a starting lock at 302k feels like a slam dunk (especially with Burbo and Weekes on the bench) and his average at lock is decent enough from a limited sample (39 from 4 games in 2021).

So why don't I trust it?
