Anyone's thoughts on Staggs and Meaney?

Could be cut price keepers, or I could be feeling delusional?

Yeah kind of strange, he is playing with Knight's second stringers, he showed he was a gun in a weak Tigers side, reckon he will go OK alongside Ponga Frizell et al. I won't write him off until I have seen him in the full strength side, the other guy I am contemplating alongside Burton might be Hughes given Storm's spine issues.

I like Staggs, hes been in my team for a while. Hopefully can just have him until the byes and he locks down a centre spot for the first half of the season for you. Feels like a 15 or 50 point average kinda guy though.

Just feels like all of the other cheap centre options are trash. Hammer is fully priced for his career FB average and playing in one of the worst teams in the comp.

Really considering just running Staggs and Holmes and then change one of Staggs/Holmes out for Manu over Origin / when Teddy goes down injured.

Hypothetical but there's every chance if Ponga and Hastings don't produce results quickly, Ponga won't be the one getting dropped as a scapegoat.
At least he won't be hooked mid game (fingers crossed).

Yep I really think spending a little bit more in the CTR/FB spots could be a key POD as a large portion are going to run all the junk guys in the back, but I still rate Staggs for 35-40, and I like Nick Meaney for 45+ if Storm new-look can fire.

Got a bit nervous watching Tommy Turbo get up outta his chair there, sure his hammies are made from spaghetti, just going to avoid him until very late in the season as I only play H2H.

more likely ponga goes back to fb I’d have thought. I really can’t see them dropping Hastings, worst case he ends up at lock?

Not watching this game but I have zero intention of picking hastings.

I dont think what happened in his short time at tigers being repeatable at a new club.

    High 30s/low 40s average imo

This is also mostly gut feel and i have the right to reneg depending on how hard it is to make a squad

    It's a trial game people.
    Calm the farm.
Hastings has been bought by the Knights to be the controlling half - Ponga's move to 5/8 is done this year.
AOB will shift other players in and out (barring injury) before he removes JBrails / Hastings / Ponga.
Miller may get hooked if he stuffs up and young Hodgson gets a run, or even Gagai gets chucked back to FB, but he won't be moving the other 3.

im not at all worried from a fantasy perspective but to say a coach with his job on the line won’t make big changes if he thinks they’ll save him is ridiculous

Yeah I don't have him either, but had not written him off completely yet. I am defo going Burton and either slot in Tanah Boyd, or go Cleary, still early days.

    I'm not unhappy with this...

    Mahoney
    Haas Cotter Sutton
    Loiero Garner
    Cleary Burton
    Thompson Alamoti
    Ponga TMM Perham

    Hodgson Hopgood Boyd Cheese

    250kx4. Maybe Doorery, Sloan etc

    Thoughts?

Has Burton been discounted or are selections just based on his edge being stronger?

Pretty sure most saying he had an average start to life at the Dogs, but came on mid season.

His end of season pretty much like the start, he looks to be priced correctly to me.

    I much prefer Doueihi

Pretty much. He's cheaper than Doeihi though. And I keep having visions of defences double-teaming Kikau, Burton cut out to JAC, JAC down the side-line, JAC passes inside to Burton backing up, TRY!
