My 16 year old daughter has got into a heap of 90's bands over the last 6 months.  Thought it was a phase at first but she is still going strong, which makes me proud Very Happy .  As opposed to her older sister who listens to today's chart shit-she has been a disappointment pretty much her whole life that one though...

Anyway, I digress.  We were watching YouTube on the big TV the other day now that I can do that with my new xboxone Very Happy  and I showed her the clip for Even Flow and she was like "what the hell is Eddie Vedder wearing!!!" .  I explained to her that pretty much all of us alternative folk back then wore a flanny, shorts, white socks and basketball shoes in those days.  Double cringe when I told her we wore that 365 days of the year-"but, but, Dad, that's too hot for Summer and not warm enough for winter". Me "I know sweetheart, I know". Embarassed

Wonder if blink182 will translate to future teens aswell as it did when I was a teenager. Something to look forward to, brainwash a bunch of little un's into my 90s/00s/10s music.

My uncle had the same conversation with his 14 year old, who thought he was really cool and edgy before he saw a photo of his dad as a kid wearing converse and ripped jeans. Not so groundbreaking any more.

Oh yeah, the ripped jeans, haha. Might need to email Dip to give him a heads up about this forum so he can describe his Hypercolour Tshirts.

Really? Its so bland and copy/paste though... Every song sounds like Justin Timberlake doing a Drake impression. I feel like its an album people are loving because they are told how good it is and form an opinion before they listen to it. I dont rate it at all. It keeps coming up in the shuffle of my "recently added" playlist and keeps getting skipped after 15seconds.

I guess im in the "hate" camp. haha.

haha. while there are a few songs which I'm not a fan of the majority of it I like. Prisoner (with lana del rey) and losers (with labrinth) would be the two most played songs on my ipod at the moment. but each to their own. Definitely agree with you that some have an impression from before they heard it or just because they think they should like it. Felt that way about Kendrick's album. Thought it was good but not to the extent I know some friends have

Got to love anything from Pearl Jam. Was too young for them at the time but my Uncle got me into some quality 90s and early 2000's rock in Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Soundgarden.

Yeah, the Lana song is good. Id do anything for her.

Know what you mean about Kendricks album, though I think that was thanks to anticipation due to how good his first album was. Jack White had a bit of the same, Lazaretto was no Blunderbuss but seemed to get rated as the second coming of Jesus before it got released. Still a cracking album, Kendricks was great aswell but I dont think it was as amazing as everyone thinks.

    Metal/Metalcore? or "Kill"

Cause I could push it out further and include KSE.

    Favourite all time bands would have to be;
    RHCP
    Foo Fighters
    Pearl Jam
    Rise Against
    BFMV

Also my guilty pleasure song is Feeling Good - Michael Buble, really not a song I would listen to but for some reason I just love it.

I think quicksand meant the kill theme.

Pearl Jam, Auckland in 2009 still one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Stoked that I get to relive it whenever I want as I managed to get the bootleg too.

Opening with Daughter was an epic moment.
Entire crowd drowning out Eddie through better man - amazing.
Set list was very much to my liking too. Very Happy

Saw him do that on the "Alice Trashes the World" tour and again supporting Motley Crue's final tour. As a tribute

Apparently I got to see Nirvana live in 1992 when I was 3 years old. I don't remember it but my dad took me there as he owned a print company and did the flyers for GC Big Day Out 92 and 93. So we were there haha
