Are you in the forum's overall group in VSDT? If not, then you should join it, because that will make it easier for the organiser (i.e. No Worries) to place you in a league next season.

Yeah a few of the forum guys are going great, White Lightning is in 5th and I’m sure there are others up the pointy end secretly as well? My team is going ok, like yourself I hope to get lucky with injuries and hope that I can hold off the chasing pack until the end pretty much.

I really like all 3 formats. I was lucky enough to come top 10 in SC a few seasons back and in the same season finished a round 3rd in Fantasy which brought with it a prize as well. It was great to get $1000 plus KFC vouchers and merch - the best part of which was the bucket - and $100 from Fantasy. Definitely needed a lot of luck to do as well as i did that season.

Gun to my head i probably choose SC because of the better prizes and the fact it rewards attacking stats more. I really like all 3 though, they all bring a different challenge and ill definitely play all 3 next season

At the end of last season I posted here suggesting we get this forum more active given this game is different to the main forum game (as in popular players in that game might not suit this games scoring etc…), but there wasn’t any interest at all, so I guess I didn’t feel the need to join in any forum leagues or anything?

Overall is always the goal for me, so never really got into the extra stuff.

The unlimited group only tracks overall points. Most of the forum members who play VSDT have been playing it for many years, and are mainly interested in overall. Joining one of our h2h leagues is more about trying to get the forum to have the highest ranking leagues on overall points/average.

I started playing VSDT in 2009 (which was the NRL.com game back then), and I don't play NFLF (which, I think, started on NRL.com in 2014) at all.

Yeah it can be a bit hard to keep up with. For instance, in round 13 (bye round) in Fantasy i had a VC and C who did not play. I thought i had checked during the week but obviously hadnt looked close enough. Sure enough, im out at a gig and at 7:55 i remember i didnt do a Fantasy check and by then the first game had started. I was 5 minutes too late, would've been better not even remembering to check until the next day or whenever.

As for keeping up with the best strategy/players to pick in each format, it can be a bit tough but there is plenty of crossover. I think SC is the easiest format and Fantasy is the most difficult. I think ive learnt to cope fairly well with the 3 different formats this season though (apart from that Fantasy mess up). What is additionally challenging is the fact i play 3 formats of AFL fantasy games too. Running 6 different teams on a weekly basis can be tough, even if i dont devote much time to each one of them.

Poor planning by me, was gonna trade Lane to Cook but forgot the Eels played tonight. Urgh.

I mean, he's scored well, but it's still annoying

I feel you on this. I had my worst ever start in this comp, but have still managed to work my way into the top 20. Thankfully the old school price rise system is far more forgiving for fixing a bad start

Playing a team that would have been extremely strong during the byes but should struggle against the origin stars like cook and Cleary etc that I have

Cleary scores 50 and you get 200 points from him and Teddy. Loop Teddy (by subbing out Cleary for a NPR?) and get 201 points from Teddy and Ramsey? I'd back Cleary getting more than 50 points.

My opponent did exactly that, Because he gets Ramsey's 1, he went from 6 points behind to 95 in front.
I will still beat him because I have 2 extra players ( Tohu & Elliott ) plus captain Cleary.

Who would drop out of your 17 to allow a red dot captain?

If Cleary scores 60 you get
200 + 60 + 1 = 261 by looping
100 + 120 + ? by not looping.

If your 17th man isn't very good then Cleary would need to get 60+ to make it worth leaving the C on him
If your 17th man is a good scrorer then I'd avoid Ramsey's 1. Its literally the worst AE you can get

Probably tend towards letting it ride on Cleary

You have been around a while i think? I remember this team name when i was relevant in this comp a few years ago. I remember printing all the other top 10 teams out trying to work out there trades and yours was one. I think you were in the mix last year too. Join in our leagues next year mate, would be great to have a player of your calibre. Usually someone pulls the pin on my league so ill flick you the code next year if there is room. Good luck mate. Would be great to see a forum member take it out. A lot less teams in this comp but people forget that most of the teams are long term hard core players so to me there's a lot of prestige in winning it.

Worth trading in Latrell to remove a PoD from my eliminator match-up? Projections have me slightly ahead. He'd probably replace Edwards in my 17.
