Leagues of 18

2 leagues = 2 x 18 = 36 teams
28 entrants = 8 teams short

Leagues of 10

3 leagues = 3 x 10 = 30 teams
28 entrants = only 2 teams short

Good point RB. Anyone who thinks that they might NOT play out the whole season, should either:

1/ NOT enter an NRLFF league
OR
2/ volunteer to be in the lowest-ranked league
OR
3/ do as you have suggested, and play out the whole season (for the good of everyone else in their league)

NB: There were a couple of seasons in the past in which I didn't enter the NRLFF leagues, because I wasn't sure if I would play out the whole season.

Sorry for the slow reply - to be honest, I want the option of bailing on the season if my team does shit hence why I dont join the leagues. Best of luck getting more people though!

Just putting it out there, but I'm happy to join any leagues if anyone wants to throw codes at me. I had a really bad year in all formats last year (hence why no invites, lol?) but hope to go okay this year... I hope.

Happy to potentially go into round 1 without Papy, Grant and Suaalii as they should all be back by round 2/3 anyway. I found it quite easy to pick a decent 17 but some of my bench options may leave a bit to be desired e.g Moylan/Ramsey/Asi but we'll see. I love the idea of going in with Turbo/Teddy/Papy/Kennedy and i think Suaalii will eventually become Latrell.

I've joined both League 1 and the Overall group.

Are the league rankings not affected by size? I seem to recall we shrunk leagues once and that meant none of the leagues counted for rankings.

On second thought it might have been NRLF as you were

Yeah, have been chatting about this.  2015 or 2016 we went to 12 team Leagues (from memory) in Fantasy and they didn't count.  But my recollection is we went to 10 team Leagues in DT a few years ago and they counted there-you could create any number of teams Leagues but only 10 and 18 counted for some reason.  

I've scoured the rules and can't find anything so have PM'd them.

I've played in a 10-team league in VSDT for the past 2 seasons, and those leagues HAVE been counted in the rankings.

So, I assume that the standard private leagues of 18 and 10 teams are ok, but I would be wary of any of the new custom leagues (6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 teams).

Hey SI. I think it was the last year of VSDT being on NRL.com that we decided to give the then-new 12-team leagues a try. If Fanhub started on NRL.com in 2014 (was that really 8 years ago), then we are talking about 2013. It was a great idea, and the setting up of the leagues went well, but VSDT let us down by NOT including the 12-team leagues in the rankings. I've been very wary of non-standard-sized leagues since then, but I know that the 10-team leagues were included in the rankings in 2020-21.

LEAGUE SETUP OPTIONS - NEW FOR 2022

• 18-TEAM LEAGUES (Default, Private & Public):
- Begin in Round 2;
- Skip multi-bye rounds 13 and 17;
- All teams play each other once, Rds 2-20.

• 10-TEAM LEAGUES (Private League option only):
- Begin in Round 1;
- Skip multi-bye rounds 13 and 17;
- All teams play each other twice, Rds 1-19.

• NEW - CREATE YOUR OWN CUSTOM LEAGUES:
- Set your league size - from 6 to 20 teams;
- Set your league's starting round.
- Pick your own finals format - Top 5, Top 6 or Top 8.
- Choose to play through or skip bye rounds.
- Point Difference or team total points for secondary league ranking.

• All leagues will play a four-round Finals Series over Rounds 21-24, (irrespective of whether it is a Top 5, 6 or 8 format), to find the overall league premiers. In some instances and dependant on league size, the bottom half of the league may also play a minor Finals Series. Due to NRL teams potentially resting players in Round 25, all Dream Team league Finals Series will now conclude with a Grand Final played over Round 24.

• Dependant on any custom league settings, or if joining the game in a later round, your team may produce an UNEVEN draw, where some teams may play against each other once, others twice, etc - or not play some teams at all).

HEAD-TO-HEAD LEAGUES

• You can create or join, and be a part of up to 10 private or public mini-leagues with your single team entry, where you'll compete 'head-to-head' against friends and relatives, or a small group of other participants in the competition.

• On joining Dream Team (unless you followed an invitation), you'll automatically be added to a Public League. You can then create or join additional Private Leagues (where you can compete against friends) or enter more Public Leagues.

• Your league will have its own "fixture", where your team is matched up against other teams in that league each round. You'll score a WIN and 2 points if you get a higher fantasy score than the team you "play" against (or 1 point for a draw). Your league ladder ranks your team based on your win/loss record as well as point difference or total fantasy points scored by each team.

• Joining a new PUBLIC LEAGUE will automatically add you to a new Public League that will be auto-filled to form a head-to-jead league of 18 teams. You cannot invite others to join Public Leagues.

• If you create a PRIVATE LEAGUE, you'll be able to invite others to this league (via the League screen). As 'Administrator', you'll also have the ability to REMOVE teams from your league, until your league is finalised.

• Click on the the CHAT icon to open the Activity Feed, you'll be able to chat and communicate with your league competitors live and direct. You can chat with your league competitors from any screenß.

IMPORTANT - FINALISING AND CONFIRMING LEAGUE ENTRY & INCOMPLETE LEAGUES

• Teams are entered in leagues on a provisional basis and are finalised at the league's set starting round. You can leave/change between leagues at any time until your league's first rolling lockout. Once leagues are finalised, you can no longer change that league.

• Your team must contain a complete list of 25 players at the starting round's rolling lockout in order to remain in your league. Any incomplete teams at the time of rolling lockout will be REMOVED from their league without notice and replaced permanently (applies to private and public leagues), in order for each league to begin at its nominated starting round.

• If your league is INCOMPLETE at the begining of its starting round, it will be merged with another, or filled with random teams and finalised. Anyone already in your league with a complete team will remain there.

Lots of rules to read regarding Leagues, but I CAN'T see any mention of which types of leagues are/aren't included in the rankings, which ISN'T much help.
