What are the odds of Cotter being a 60+ minute starting lock? If any closer to 80, he would be a must-have at 500k. Seems like T,mlolololololo is destined for smaller minutes in the middle?

I refuse to believe that any coach can dig his heels in about a player that much. Taumalolo was the best lock in the game just a season ago and he’s only 28. With a new season, Payten can play him for big minutes at lock without having to swallow any pride. Only fly in the ointment is not knowing what goes on in the background. Maybe Todd just flat out doesn’t like Jason.

Lolo averaged 61.6 mins per game in 2020. In 2021 he averaged 59.4 mpg. [He was injured in Rd 1. After returning from injury in Rd 8, he was eased back in with a sub 50 minute game. After that he averaged 61.2 mins per game.]

His form dropped last year, averaging just 0.8ppm. Easily his lowest ppm since 2014.

I have him pencilled in my starting team.

Te Maire Martin given a dev contract by the Broncos (had been there since start of pre season on a trial)

Fair chance he is in the 6 jersey by years end

Yeah, but going on last year there's decent odds Kevvie will give me a run at some stage too.

Seriously though, great to hear TMM is back after that brain bleed.

If we are fully fit mate I have a feeling he might just be outside our best 17. If he is in our 17 I’m not sure he will get the minutes to be fantasy relevant if he’s just getting say 25mins off the bench.

You make a good point and he's been in and out of my side over the past few weeks

How confident are we he can get his PPM back up?
Why was it so low in 2021?
Plus you've got to factor in that he will lose points from tackle breaks being worth 2 instead of 3

I can see Carrigan getting the same, if not better scores for $32k less
So for Taumalolo to be a better option, he would need to outscore Carrigan by 2.6 points per week

Stefano will also get similar scores to Taumalolo, maybe slightly less, but is $63k cheaper
For Taumalolo to be a better option, he would need to outscore Stefano by 5.1 points per week

That being said, I have Cotter as my 3rd Mid atm and if Taumalolo starts lock over Cotter I might end up bringing him in

I think Cotter was getting some big minutes and through a lot of work before his injury. Without looking at his price, he might be a bit awkward for Fantasy but deifnitely on my draft radar. Mobile locks are back baby - whether it’s utilities (Watson, Peach, D Walker) or converted hookers (Cheese, MCInnes, Cotter). Load up

Agree with the pecking order here but I reckon the 4th bench spot will either go to Taaffe playing a 2019 Papenhuyzen kind of role, or maybe even Havili/Mamouzelos if Souths think they can get more out of Cook playing 60 minutes. Seems to be a trend for hookers to play less and that could suit Cook.

Wouldnt surprise me to see Hodgson getting that role as well this season, with Starling starting Hooker.

Aitken is a must have, averaged 64 on the edge last season.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/warriors/127443732/make-or-break-year-for-warriors-in-nrl-says-euan-aitken

That’s something Aitken could be involved in, but he said Warriors coach Nathan Brown sees him predominately as a second rower now, with his strong defensive skills being a benefit to the team.

“He has mentioned that he’ll look to use me in both (second row and centre), but it looks like I’ll start the year playing in the back row, because he thought it would strengthen our team defensively with leg speed and also it gives the team extra interchange, because I can play 80 minutes,” Aitken said.

“So he thought it was more valuable to the team with me being in the second row.”

    You may be right.

But bear in mind that was only a 5 game sample you counted, which does not a full fantasy season make. He scored 4 tries in those 5 games, and made a tad over 4 tackle busts per game - not sure either is sustainable??

And, no upside from offloads either. He made none when he played second row, and he’s now gone more than 650 minutes on the field since his last offload.  lol!

Having seen Aitken in the CTRs for the Dragons for years, I’ll be shocked if he ever offloads in a tackle. I’m not sure he knows you’re allowed to pass.

On Aitken, who makes way for Tohu Harris when he comes back?

If Aitken wasn't selectable at CTR I doubt I'd even look at him. Like Marlin said, his massive try haul in his sample from last year will have inflated his scoring. Will look at him if he starts the year in 2nd row, but I am a bit dubious.
