Got Sitili and holding him until at least R17.

Last weeks score was apparently impacted by slight injury and he has been up and down with injury/suspension etc but should be a solid 80 mins from here on in (love how he has a shocker every 3 weeks to stop his price going anywhere Very Happy )

Is Thompson over Haas a better long-term play?

    If Thompson maintains a 55 average, 55 x 11 rounds = 605

Even if Haas really hits his stride to end the year, 60 x 10 = 600, assuming no post-origin resting (Broncos play Sunday after Origin 3, so probably a fair assumption). If he maintains his current 57 average obviously that gap widens.

The risk is obviously that Haas returns to 2019/20 levels of 67 average, in which case it's not even close. For all the talk of reduced minutes, they aren't actually that far down this year (from 64 in 2019 to 67 in 2020 to 60 this year on avg.)

It just feels wrong choosing Thompson over Haas.

11 trades after going Watson + Laurie to Fifita and SJ.

    Braily
    Harris, TPJ, JFh
    Crichton, Fifita
    Cleary, Fog
    Bird, Avo
    Teddy,
    turbo, Hynnes

    Hunt, Moses, Sj, Walsh

    Burton, CHN, Jones, Roberts

Bolded are players id be comfortable in my final 21.

Need to bolster my rd 17 stocks. Looking at upgrading JFH, Roberts, Burton to AFB, Verrils, Arey. That will leave me with 8 trades. Will need two more somewhere to bring in Pappy, might try get in latrell as well. Which leaves 5 trades on run home with a team with out any obvious holes.

Players id be missing out on that are obvious, Haas, Matterson, Ipap? neither of which are doing so well that you'd call them a must have.

20 playable can become 15 pretty quickly with a couple of longish term injuries, the odd suspension, and 18th/19th man ending up on the bench or dropped. Anyway its all pure speculation and a long way away.

I'm obviously talking about/hoping for a scenario that favours me, assuming I actually have some trades up my sleeve this year.

I've been pretty stubborn about my 'make ground up when everyone runs out of trades' strategy this year.

Admittedly I'm usually starting a run from much higher up the rankings, but it's got to the stage were I am interested to see how it plays out this year

Maybe SJ. R17 is very low on must haves.

Id go Haas. Proven a better scorer, Thompson's really cracked 50 with out a try 3 times, two of those games he had nearly 70mins, the other was against the Cows.

Thompsons appeals more of trade in and out type player around rd 17. With a BE of 61 this week. He can afford to wait. Haas with a BE of 81, can also wait.

I probably can't avoid Walsh any longer.

I don't think SOS hangs around long. He's just not very good.

Obviously Walsh is a kid so the concern might be having him defend in the front line for too long, but Walsh could play 6 in attack but defend at FB.

Remember years ago Granville used to defend at fb for Wynnum when playing 'hooker'. That was back when he couldnt tackle.

I agree, you can hide him at FB or wider next to a very strong edge defender (Dragons won a premiership doing this with Soward/Scott). Just seems like the value in attack in having Walsh and RTS in the spine outweighs the defensive problems it creates.

Plus I would like to buy RTS for R17 because the cupboard is bare.

Haas is one score away from being declared a must have again. As an owner who bought the top, I am hoping it is tonight.. lol

Yeah teams don't normally name 1-19 right in NSW/Qld Cup right? Suggests he is likely out at 24hrs?

    a) Laurie & Watson for SJ and Thompson
    b) Laurie, Watson, and Matto for Verills, Haas, and DiFi
    c) Laurie to Haas

For B, I guess I could also get Thompson instead of Haas, be +2 for R17 numbers, and still get DiFi.

The more I've thought about the more I'm leaning C. Huge upgrade, loop Watson with Ponga and Pearce back, and give Matto another week against the Dogs.

    A I think for me.

Yeah, most of the time. Most probable outcome if named in reserves, is playing reserves.

And AVO. People still hesitant must hate fantasy points.

Simo and CHN will be popular too. Simo is a strong washout plus the WFB cupboard is bare for R17. Then's there's probably a dozen PODish guys to wait and watch, where you might want 2-3

I was gonna say I'd still get Tohu over Taupau, but if Leniu -> Thompson is in the equation then I reckon lock that in, especially if you can still get Tohu by R17. Just don't trust Taupau, always seem to end up with him for the run home and he's never quite as good as I'd hope.

The thing is with Taupau, no AFB and their forward depth is shit and the likes of Paseka and the others aren't big minute props. No JTurbo in round 17 so Marty could be in for a big one.

Marty is logging big stats again of late. 160m+ in the last four games. Bit of a Matt Lodge resurgence.

*IGNORE MATCHUPS* but his next five games are a pretty good run.

Looking at Taumalolo in my team is making me mad. Watching the cows this year, he's been very unimpressive. But he plays Rd17 so I guess I ride it out until then atleast

Good morning fellas, lurker all year and absolutely love your work but finally here to steal some genius from you if you don't mind

I'm mainly playing H2H at this point since my overall has gone down the drain lol, been umming and ahhing all week for my 3rd trade which is Schuster/Watson to Harris. Don't need either for specific positional cover and the one I keep will probably be my final team 18th man. Personally leaning towards selling Schuster since they've got a similar avg but Watson is due a try imo... fuck it's tough because I love watching them both play

Also please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Blake Taaffe looks like Cam Green

    Has to be Watson right?
