what is more important at this stage? jumping on a cow like Koloa or Alvaro or getting in missed middies and potential guns like Jackson, Papali'i and Sitili

Any insight from donkey fans on Carrigan’s role this year? 80 minutes W1 to 59 last week. Reckon that will be the norm? I thought they went better with him out there, 39 surely an outlier? TIA Slug.

    Personally I think:

    Papali'i
    Jackson
    Sitili
    Collins

Papali'i really looks the goods, whether Matto is in the team or not. If I had a trade out that made sense to provide the funds for him I'd be doing it (eg I think I'd move the likes of a NAS to him) but alas I do not and I am scared of missing the boat on him

I think to note on Papalii is his edge scores won't match his big middle stints in terms of involvement

Mgihtt look good to see him starting with his average but don't think that's maintainable wider, of course if he scores then its moot

You want to maximise both cash and points. Upgrades to playing 17s achieves both. Seeing lots of trades for 18-21 players the last 2 rounds

If he's on your bench than you'll get 18th man's points

Just posted this in my team tracker

    Trade in Targets

Josh Schuster 301k (47): break even of 5 and a great score in mostly base stats on the weekend. He should only improve on this as he is a big body with immense talent.

Daniel Alvaro 352k (54): great PPM and getting good minutes. A history of being a gun and could get back there this year

Keaon Koloamatangi 399k (45): starting role and scored well in all base stats. should be able to keep up this scoring and  make good cash

Mitch Kenny 436k (46): 4-5 weeks of 80 minutes at hooker will take this opportunity with both hands and run with it. Already got a history of scoring around 50 when playing 80 at hooker but this extended run could see him find some form and pump out some gun scores and make good cash

Sitili Tupouniua 566k (70): two big scores after winning the starting spot and however these scores both includes one try which he won't get every week

Lindsay Collins 569k (64): got big minutes and big scores the first two rounds. Wouldn't be the first time we have seen a young player come out of origin camp and elevate to gun level. However, his 64 was assisted by two TAs and a LBA which increased his score greatly.

Isaiah Papali'i 575k (61): he has brought great energy off the bench which has seen him produce gun scores in the first two rounds with big minutes. He is now starting second row for an unknown period of time and while his historical scoring at second row would suggest he is not a buy he is 22 and has shown great improvement from previous years which he can hopefully continue

Josh Jackson 595k (72): Could he be this year's Yeo? playing big minutes at lock has seen the workhorse produce massive scores with mostly just base stats. However, RFM and Luke Thompson returning holds a question mark over his sustained role.

Got a like just for a great run down mate.

RE. Jackson, RFM out for up to 20 weeks. Thompson into the prop rotation surely

Think RFM being out long-term could effect Jackson in that if Waddell is no good Jackson goes back to the second row to score 40s.

They need him in the middle. Stimson to edge possible instead. Atoni has been strong, not sure if he is a candidate for edge as well.

Really should be getting Fifita this week to correct that misstep at start of the year.
For some reason I hate trading out middies to get there, I mean surely Turpin is the one to go if there is a chance he won’t be going 80 minutes.

    Hmmm pondering time

This is a worry. Waddell better suited off bench but they might not have a choice, their props are bunk

Stimson is worse than Waddell though. (Most of the Dogs forwards are pretty bad, tbf. They need Jackson in the middle *and* on the edge).

If you had to choose two players, one cheapie and one mid, from the list above who would you choose.
