Gee, Des must really have some faith in Croker to get the job done. Could probably play him in my 17. Half makes me want to do the Lodge downgrade to a nuffy and put in my nprs to free up some coin. I don't have a lot of faith in Lodge.

So that is my afternoon spent, and then all weekend/season can regret settling on the wrong ones

I still don't like Turpin in my 17, but probably can't do anything about it

So much talk has been about, worth it if 6 games, not worth it if 4 etc but I’m more of the mindset, he looks to have a key role, in a good side, with 4-6 really good fixtures, and he’s cheap.

If he was a bit cheaper or was locked in for Goal kicking I probably would've taken the gamble.

He's probably good for a couple of good scores (IF he gets 4+ weeks) and maybe a 40 average.
But, balance that against IF he only got 3 weeks, OR his 2 good scores come in the last 2 weeks rather than the first e.g. 30, 25, 55, 50 - you only really get 2 weeks of any moderate price shift and likely miss a 50 if it follows a 20ish score.

Too many scenarios for mine where it ends up playing out pretty average vs an alternative that likely has a much more clear run (even if in a less glamourous role).

Reminder that NRL squad rules mean that once round 1 is finished, you can release a player from your 29(or 30) without having to replace them until the new deadline in September. Could be important for players like Burton moving on

For the Knights, first 4 games are against easier teams on paper. 3 at home and one on the Central Coast. I think odds are good enough that he can pump out one decent score before Ponga comes back to give him a decent enough pice rise.

Who is the best player available under $400k? (that isn't Liddle, Hoy, Averillo, Bird, Roberts, Laurie, Croker Riki, Lodge, Host, Watson - Holy shit! Milford at $427k is my 7th most expensive player (edit 8th, Lam is a bit more then Milfmeister) )

2RFs get a preference to reduce reliance on Host.

I'm also getting a bit of FOMO on Tex. Bloke has the talent to hang around and grab a spot in the centres/on the wing/as utility until there is another injury

I like Momirovski. Feels a bit edgier than Bird and Jimmy at centre in what should be a great team, with a nice opening fixture. If Bird goes back to crabbing some tackle busts, he’ll be gold, but gambling Momo finally breaking out
