Would much rather Marsters than Bird. Roberts and Masters with averillo bench makes for decent cover. Can't have Niu myself.

    a) Bird (CTR) + Averillo (EMG) + 21K

    VS

    b) Averillo (CTR) + Simonsson (EMG) + 149K

    VS

    c) Averillo (CTR) + Leniu (EMG) + 88K

    Other ctr is Roberts.

I currently have Hoy in my side because he seems like a much better scorer at fullback with goalkicking, and Ponga's due back round 4-5 which should be enough time for him to make money (and then sell to another cow when Ponga does come back).

Moylan's got Swiss cheese hammies and has never been fantasy relevant

Barnett is goalkicking so Hoy loses those points... let's say he averages 40 points. That only nets him 76K before Ponga returns.

Moylan has injury risk but his historical five-eighth average is like 32 or something and his historical FB average (where he will go when SJ returns) is like 39 which are both well above his 23pt BE

    Is SST+Papy+Simmonson to

    Welch+RTS+Isaako reasonable??

Losing Papy but getting RTS and Isaako reasonable upgrade on Simmonson and bottom 3 seem better cash builders

Avo as a centre backup is good, but the half coverage is what does it for me. Means I don't need to grab Moylan.

Too light on forward cover? I'm happy enough with each pick, but worried about only having Crichton and Stefano to cover mid and edge.

I think it's good enough. I've got Crichton and Jetski. You can always trade, and this round if there's a late out you can trade for free if they haven't played yet.

Hoy isn't goalkicking any more. I plugged in Hoy to score 40 first 3 rounds into MTB's site and I wasn't impressed. Moylan will always feature in the team and his long term average at half and fullback is still 10 points underpriced. Also factor in that he has a lot to prove this year (last year on an 800k contract). Has also worked on his sprinting style with a coach to hopefully mitigate his hammy issues which might also mean he's willing to take on the line. Townsend is a solid anchor taking on the bulk of kicking and management freeing up Moylan to maybe spark something in attack.

He will probably still average 25 though.

Hoy likely to average 40ish at 23 BE compared to Moylan likely to average 32 with a 23 BE and significantly higher injury risk in a worse team, I'm not convinced.

the Knights draw is really good and the Sharks will really struggle without SJ.

It might be time he stopped.

Sounds like you've made your mind up then. Just don't complain if Hoy doesn't work out and Moylan stays fit and makes money.

    Last choice:

    Roberts (centre) + Alvaro (18-21) + $23k
Marsters (centre) + $269k to spend on a player.

Problem is I really like Marsters.

On that basis, is Lam a better shout than Townsend?

I've only made up my mind on not picking Moylan, I'm considering Reimis Smith as a replacement, at centre he should get decent base

Depends when Ponga is actually back. If it's round 6, five 40s will make 140k. Not too shabby. A lot has to go right though. Moylan the "safer" option. He'll score shit, but only needs one or two decent scores to get his price going. That said, I have neither.
