They will certainly have a game plan to get him into the game as a star signing.

I am a bit worried about starting with Averillo with Wakeham in the mix. Averillo wouldn't have a spot in the Centres or Wing if Wakeham was starting either.

From a fantasy perspective we'd get a clearer idea of the pecking-order pre-season...

(* I do have an idea. It's conservativism and dumbness)

    It was adopted years ago.

Super League had fixed jersey numbers. but because it was super league everyone hated it and it was ditched when they merged to NRL

Here's a random super league game to see what team lists looked like.

As has been mentioned, basically every other sport does it with fixed numbers per player, why can't league.

When Jake Simpkin comes off the bench to replace Jacob Liddle, are Tigers fans going to be confused as to who is hooker?
If the guy standing close to the sideline in attack and defense is wearing number 22, are people going to be confused about what position he is playing?

People named in a position they don't have will get DPP next Wednesday

Exceptions are if its just short term injury cover (eg whoever wears 6 for the Tigers)
Or if they already have 2 positions (can't have triple position eligibility)

Tupou and JAC were the wings in all 3 games last season

I like the idea of names on the jerseys but the thought of having random numbers, just willy nilly and all over the shop, is something I will never be on board with.
In fact, I wonder how you blokes can actually live your lives with such an obvious lust for anarchy and disorder???
I bet none of you arrange your pen's in obvious order of colour, size and usage.
