I still don't see a difference if a centre is wearing 12 that week, or a half is 27 because it's someone who's broken through. Especially if they have their names on their backs.

Super League does it and squad numbers act as a kind of reward. The kid who was 25 last season and has been impressive might be "promoted" to 18. Also acts as a good fantasy indicator.

Then there are the stories you can spin around the season. Fogarty no 28 ends up as the club's premier half. And then there are the sales...

Anyway, we're a bit away from fantasy so I'll shut up now.

i'm not against it. just pondering. probably stayed the same way so commentators have it easier. if they changed to personalised numbers then maybe they'd have to do some actual preparation

That's the conservatism and dumbness I was talking about. Not sure Blocker can count to 24.

Is Kelly worth the extra at CTR with impressive Titans forward pack?

Hi All, I've been busy trying to catch up on all the posts.

what are people's thoughts on Opacic? seemed to be thrown around in a couple of drafts early on but haven't really seen him mentioned much

my thoughts are if the eels continue to go well this year he could get some decent attacking stats and he seems to ok defensively

any reasons why he wouldn't do as well as the main 3 choices of Bird, Roberts or Averillo

Could make the jump to keeper, had 3 scores over 60 last season. Was in my team early, but kept getting sacrificed when I needed cash elsewhere. Isn't on the favoured Fifita side.

Center may need to have some coin spent on it if Niu is suspended to start the season. No obvious base price players unless Young gets a run.

Thing is we already have done this - in 1997. Maybe there's still some Superleague saltiness that is preventing the powers that be from doing it.

I have Opacic because he's on the left side....Moses, Matterson, Opacic, Sivo (I think) & since this will probably the preferred edge on attack then I'm hoping Opacic will benefit. Also Opacic is very quick so any half gap he'll go for it.

Richie Barnett wearing 23 is fucking disgraceful.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was thinking of Richie Blackmore. Embarassed

Id prefer Cotric assuming hes fit for around the same price. Especially with the news he was switching positions with his winger late in the sets so that he does the kick returns. In theory that means he will still get good run metres plus extra tackling at ctr

Indications point to Su’a being good to go, I tip Keaon will be beside him at the start.

The biggest question is whether he stays injury free.

Jake Simpkin already looks like he'll be the better Hooker, so if he's on the bench, In My Most Humble Opinion, he will at some point displace him in the starting role.

If Mbye is on the bench (not withstanding that he's only been on the bench on one occasion in the last 7 years) then I'd be less worried about his JS.

Croker doesn't look like a great footballer, but if he gets minutes he'll score points (probably at a poor PPM). On the upside, there doesn't seem to be any obvious other Hooker putting pressure on him.
Still, he could lose the role just from being poor.
Simpkin has barely play CC, he looks the goods but will need sone time in CC before big minutes in 1st Grade. Mbye will be 14 to start the season.

Cotric looked good in the trial game (48 points), I expect him to be one of the CTR keepers this season.
I won't start with him, but will likely end up with him in the 17 later in the season.

I may be a tad bias but for a few dollars more I think Gagai offers more and covers 2 positions and for mine will get more attacking chances than the above mentioned.

I see Kelly the same as Holland Fogarty. Got to play free flowing football while out of finals contention in meaningless games. Probably not sustainable
