Not as if clubs are being forced to sign him? It's how a competitive market works you can't blame the player

Trying to do both at once would have to put a huge amount of pressure on you.

Hahahah he's not gonna be at school every day. I read that Trent Robinson has already visited Kings and worked out a timetable that suits everyones needs. Let's be real anyways, I doubt Joseph will try too hard for his HSC... wont mean anything in a couple of years for him

I guess you want a manager that's trying to get you as much as possible, but it also sounds like he's getting bad advice and maybe doesn't have good people around him.

I'm not sure that making yourself look like a shithead before you've even made the big time is a great strategy in the long term (TPA's etc) and most clubs prefer to recruit good players who also know how to work hard, earn it and tow the line (as well as other cliche's I may have missed)

    Does that make 5c now

My 2c. The article makes him sound bad, which is the point I suppose. Uses the word "demand" a lot.

Sounds like Rabbits wanted him to sign a long term deal but wouldnt give him get out clauses. At that point his manager probably wanted to try and secure bigger dollars.

Personally i dont think any young kid should be signing long term deals, but there should also be some benefit to the current club so they cant (so easily) jump ship after a year or two. I dont have all the answers but theres no way a 5 year deal for a 17yr old is a good thing.

Admittedly if a club is silly enough to throw money at unproven kids, then that is their problem. We did that with Haas (altho i feel like haas was a more known quantity, or maybe i just knew more about him due to being in broncos system)

Competitive market is driven by such behavior and its okay to blame players as they are also involved in the decision making.

    The other 2 cents.

On the fantasy side of things I wouldn't hesitate to put $uaalii in my fantasy team if he is named to start.

Not everyone who finishes year 12 does the HSC! He coukd drop out of year 12 now since he has a job. School’s not necessarily that important for these guys.

Rumour on the Supercoach site is Lam will be GK! Anyone else heard anything? If true, does Lam go straight in over Liddle/ Croker?

Most people here probably already running Lam and Liddle. And many are wary of Croker's scoring potential. And both ar emuch cheaper than Lam so can't see how it would be a straight swap anyway.

And are rumours that Lam would be sole GK, or just take kicks when SST is off the field? I thought there'd been a few comments about SST being primary kicker

Yeh i think both coaches will probably treat it as close to a regular season match as possible.

I think a common theme for next weekend will be coaches playing the first 40 minutes as a first grade warmup, and the 2nd half to give fringe guys a chance to prove themselves. That sort of thing happens a lot.

With Blore's injury now confirmed, who else is looking to do a straight swap to replace him with Stimson

Mate he’s looking better now than when he turned back up for pre season training.

He will be fine he was like this at this time last year.

GI also always looked the same before the season began.

I was happy with Latrell last night I saw enough in the replay I watched this morning. He will probably only average around 10 runs a game at fullback but will make up for it on what he creates in attack plus the tries he saves. Mansour is a great signing for us as he makes 20 hit ups a game just what we need.

Leaning towards a benchie surprisingly. Alvaro/Faamasuli (potential to start though), Utoikamanu

With Musgrove suspended 2 games (3 if unsuccesful challenge), potential for Utoikamanu to cement bench spot, or trap??

Fair few of the base price benchies in R1 last year went pretty well in terms of price rises & playability (Rudolf, JTB, Katoa)

Utoikamanu may be worth a punt as you never know the Tigers could pick up an injury in the pack that keeps him in the side round 3 onwards.

It’d be bitter sweet for me if Riki starts as it’d mean I need to find a 3rd cheapest WFB as I have Oates there right now!

I added him last night. Wasn't as hard as I was expecting, just downgraded a center.

Yeah this. I doubt there’s been too much emphasis on his education to date anyway. He’s basically on a scholarship to win them rugby trophies.

I’m basically all for players getting what they can. I just hope he’s being protected more than exploited by the process.

My apologies. Got confused with Supercoach where he is a cheap 5/8/HOK!
