    Thanks mate. Will trade him.

There's a couple of players I'm keen on that turn up later this year that you would no doubt remember. Don't think either of them has been mentioned, maybe one of them.

You guys have great memories to remember stuff like that.

I would have been close to starting with Steven Bell if I had a team in this comp, and he's started well, but might be too late to bring in now.

Steven Bell what a gun...now I've changed my trades to get him into my team plus I get more cash doing these set of trades. Going for gun/cow trades.
Dallas Johnson out - Steven Bell in &
Brent Sherwin out - Tame Tupou in

Leaves me with 74k bank. Purtell can just rot in my npr's & I was going to bring in Todd Carney but I think him starting will only be temporary. I notice Woolford is injured & the usual half Withers is playing hooker allowing Carney to start in the halves.
This will give me a great back 5 - Gasnier, Bell, GI, El Masri, Brett Stewart.

Do you feel like 2006 is already starting to pass you by?

Are your creative POD selections failing to get the acknowledgement they deserve?

Do you want the chance to outshine Verbal in a Fantasy based comp?

Do you have what it takes to be crowned the 2006 POD King and Champion of Champions?

Well here it is, the ultimate POD championship:
*In this competition All POD's are players with less than 10% ownership (i.e. 2 teams or less own them)

cheer  You get 1 point for every POD you play in your 17.
cheer  You get a bonus point for every unique POD you have (i.e. you are the only owner).

cheer The top POD player scores are ranked each week and win points based on their scores relative to their priced average.
I.e. a player priced at $300K has a priced average of 20. If they score 30 points, they are 10 points over... this is so cows have as much chance of winning a round as a POD gun.
    Top overs score as follows:
    1st place: 10 points
    2nd 7
    3rd 6
    4th 5
    5th 4
    6th 3
    7th 2
    8th 1
cheer You also get a bonus point for each unique player you own that makes the top 8.

affraid You lose points for owning the worst performing PODs:
    4th last -1
    3rd last -2
    2nd last -3
    Last place: -5 points

Gone a different route and not bought Cam Smith?
cheer You get a point for not owning of popular players (greater that 67% ownership).
For Round 1 this was anyone who didn't own Cam Smith or Greg Inglis

This isn't a new comp, it will be run on your existing team each week! (So you don't need to do anything!)
I've run this on Round 1 so far, and think it could be an entertaining comp (I'm running 2nd last after the first round).
Give me a thumbs up and if there's enough interest I'll get this going and try to release a score up date each day so we're caught up ready for R5 & R6 this weekend.
Or let me know what you think!

this is pretty much all i have to play for atm LOL. letsgo team Milton Thaiday <3

I notice both Henry & Marcus Perenara are in the Eels squad & Marcus is on the bench this round. I know their father Bernie, never met Henry but played with & against Marcus through the grades. I remember when Marcus made the squad for the Eels the boys & I couldn't understand why because he wasn't that great a player. But I think Bernie had the contacts to get both his boys a shot & they took it so good on them.

To save you the guessing game I'd have my eye on Vatuvei

He was a good try scorer for a lot of years, I saw he got injrued at the same time as Vatuvei

I guess the risk is that Vatuvei was downright terrible at times early in his career (he had a game against Parra which was one of the worst ever performances from a first grader), so not sure if 2006 was when he started coming good or if he was still crap.

It's weird looking back isn't it? A couple of lads I went to school with and played with and against are playing first grade in 2006. The younger brother that I didn't have much to do with is a regular first grader and the older brother makes his debut this year.

Yeah likewise. Luke Patten i played cricket and went to school with, Ben Hornby year above me in my local club, Matty Head played cricket against (year below me), Dean Young the younger brother of very close mate of mine... it’s good shit alright

The 2006 POD Champion of Champions: Round 1

Thank you for the positive response. Without further adieu, let's get stuck in with Round 1:

So you thought JT's 125 points was good, well think again because in PODland it's worth nothing; The 6 proud owners of Mr Thurston earn nil pois for that one.

First up, who were the top 8 POD's, and the all important bottom 4:

Congratulations again Code Delta on being the sole owner Paul Whatuira's 106 points, a whopping 66 points over his priced value.

Sorry to re-open old wounds Filth and Quicksand, you were the unfortunate owners of the worst POD from Round 1, with Liam Fulton's season ending zero pointer netting you the first -5 of the championship.

The 2006 POD Champion of Champions: Round 1

Here are the standings after the first round of the POD Championship.

Code Delta had an incredible 12 POD's (more than half his team!), and played 10 as well as taking out the top spot for POD of the round.
Commiserations to myself in second to last spot, and to Verbal who is yet to get off the mark.

This weeks all too popular players (with >67% ownership) were:
    Cameron Smith (in 18 teams)
    Greg Inglis (in 16 teams)
You scored a bonus point if you didn't have either of these "Too-Pop" players in your R1 team:

If anyone has any suggestions, feedback etc, please send through tonight, as I plan to run out Round 2 tomorrow...
