He should be least of your worries. Proven fantasy stock.

Some people have players like Knight and Su’a that have never left their team.

I’m a sucker for old school gun Laughing

Still in a Haas (plus punty backs) vs Merrin (with proper centres) myself

Either way that lands won’t feel terrible about it. Can always switch Merrin to new Merrin (Lawrie) if need

You've got some real cognitive dissonance going on their PcFly. It's not like I am sharing my team and not contributing.

It's OK, you can admit you are wrong and still be a man!

    Haha well I’ll be! lol!

I really do think this is taking my joke about nobody having Drinkwater a little bit far, it was a solid musing rather than singling anybody out, but sure- you clearly had him in your team at one point and obviously some people had thought about him. I believe this fulfills all the legal obligations asked for in that letter your lawyer sent me Laugh 3

And of course I don’t mind you sharing iterations of your team, I have said as much- this post of mine really only highlights that since I end up commenting on so many of them I can’t even remember! Despite all this squabble, I actually do like the way your fantasy brain thinks outside the box and I encourage you to post as many ideas as you see fit.

I think we can now all move on from this feeling like we have grown a little.

For me personally it is a change of position.

Playing in the HLFs he should increase his overall base stats such as tackle count and kick meters. (Ignore the fact his one game at Halfback he only made 1 tackle and 39km in 80 minutes). I think everyone is expecting a much bigger role this year as he is alongside Morgan. Last year Morgan averaged 294 kick meters. His average kick meters with Thurston were 118km (2018), 225km (2017), 87km (2016), 72km (2015). The only other stand out year was 2017 in which Thurston was injured for the majority of the year and only played 7 games (The first 6 games of the year with Thurston, Morgan averaged 73km). Morgan has become a dominant kicking half more by necessity, and when he has been the dominant kicking Half the Cowboys haven't looked great.

Drinkwater isn't a dominant kicker by any means, but averaged 65km as a Fullback in the Intrust Supercup between 2017 - 2019, while Clifford last season averaged 150km when playing with Morgan. If Drinkwater bumps his kick meters up to even 100km per game on average that will boost his score by a 4 point average in just one statistic. Add the fact he looked quite explosive and controlled the game (albeit was the 9s) over the weekend, and will have an actual offseason training with the Cowboys and the system, instead of being dumped into what was a mess of a team last year that was chopping and changing HLFs and FBs all year. I can easily see him outscoring his average from last year by 10 - 15 points and having the odd game that he blows up in. (Don't get me wrong, I get there will be dud 30 point games most likely) but an increase in his tackle count (Clifford and Morgan last year averaged 16 and 17 tackles per game respectively which is a 13 point bump in average) as well should help him build a really stable floor and allow him to get good attacking stats of the back of Holmes, Morgan, Taumalolo, and Hess (Who looked solid). With the potential addition of Robson to the side as well. The Cowboys just look strong and Drinkwater can benefit.

Thanks. If he starts I’m almost convinced. Almost . I actually thought he was 500 something but at 400 I might consider it cheers

Crichton - not sure he starts over Aubo given Aubo played R15-24 + finals (rested R25) at 2RF
JAC - relies heavily on tries & plays Origin, priced 37 and only high score of 40 without try with 3 scores below 20
Egan - not sure he actually has assurance of spot early on anymore as Lawton may be fit for R1

Also not sure you have reliable captain week in week out - Friend?? Moses?? Matterson/Crichton??

Rest of the picks are fine

He’s cheap and he’s favoured to get the right centre spot so will be playing on Cleary’s side.

I can’t see Best averaging more than 25 and I feel Watkins may be handy and get that average up to 29-30 points.

Favoured says who? A sportal article?

Whare and Naden the likely centres i would think

Pookus on fire last couple of days!  lol!

Yesterday's was ironic and got 15 upvotes so I'm not the only one.  I don't think he singled out anyone and I have been enjoying myself immensely!

He clearly singled out me. It just makes sense, I am the most handsome on the forum, and should be the only one who is allowed to have Drinkwater BECAUSE I SAW HIM FIRST!

The quality of “Humour” May have had something to do with it. I’m sick of being hungover on Sundays with no Footy to obsess over.

Personally I hope he doesn’t delve too far down that dark path, I like Matt’s approach because he has the balls to make picks I wouldn’t. His gamble on Katoa last season was something I could never do and it actually looked like it was going to work after 4 rounds. Differing approaches make you question your own and break up the group think, and he is always a solid contributor.

One thing I’m not McPoop, is a liar. I went out for dinner with my beautiful missus for Valentine’s Day....had the roast duck and some lovely fried rice. Didn’t see a single game of nines. Logged on here, saw some comments about Drinkwater and made my valuable contribution. Ive liked him for a few years. Now he’s cracked the HB spot, which is where he played all his juniors, he’s a lock in for great value at FB.

    So, get fucked, you peanut.

Have to admit this year I am finding it tougher to get a squad that I am comfortable with, with this in mind I think I might just squirrel some 💰 away to fix up my f&&& ups, at the moment that’s just shy of $200K.This will all change come TLT but it’s the way I am leaning this year so far.
