Sounds like he will be the 7 to start the year and he has got himself sorted mentally. Read in an article the other day that Tyrone Peachey had been training at 5/8 - if this is the case, Taylor very likely to do 90% of the kicking.

Priced at 35, he averaged 40 in 2018, where he kicked 289 metres per game. Could be some upside there. For a reference point, Moses kicked 372metres per game last year. Would probably be the goal kicker too (in 2018 he goal kicked a games, times, average of 0.8 per game).

So with Curtis Scott stuffing up his season I mentioned yesterday that Smith-Shields could be a round 1 smokie. This is from nrlsctalk & these were his stats from 2019 i8n Jersey Flegg:
    17 games, 15 tries, 2 ta, 18 lb, 81% tackle efficiency, 2,900 run mtrs (178 average), 4 offloads, 158 tb.

I tend to agree, but new coach.. might see a need to shake things up.

I think Peachey is probably more suited to play a roving utility role/add some spark from the bench though.

Jersey Flegg though, how much can you read into stats against kids? (Legit question, I don’t know)

I’d think if Scott is done - and he might not be following NAS and D Fifita penalties - the obvious is Oldfield comes in, at least for the start of the year.

I do like Peachy and i agree he's better suited for the bench and sort of can play anywhere and would be good around tired defenders.

Other than that i do like him in centres

Peachey’s problem is he’s halfway thru his career and nobody knows his best position yet.

Personally I think his best position doesn’t really exist anymore - ball-playing forward, like when locks were often a 3rd playmaker instead of a 3rd prop up the middle.

Pretty strong argument from guys like Jake T, Murray, even Radley that they have made a comeback.

Don't know that Peachey really has the workrate to defend in the middle though..

Is a big enough step in intensity and defense from ressies to 1st grade. No way you wouldn't blood him in ressies first, he'd be a turnstile.

The allegedly hitting a cop will be the kicker. It's still only going to be a fine and a couple of weeks. Question is, will it be long enough for a cow to generate cash ?

You just gotta look at Xavier Coates last year, looked way out of his depth coming straight from u18s and one game in Q Cup to the NRL.

Obviously our side was busted at the time so that didn't help him much.

Geez I hope Carrigan starts and gets 50mins, he will be my other prop I’d say to join Haas to allow me to buy 2 gun halves and fit D. Fifita into the back row.

@ my tv broke do you reckon Fifita will get 80mins?

If everyone is fit, then splitting up the minutes is tricky.

    Starting pack:-
    Haas - big mins
    Lodge - big mins
Glenn - is the captain so will play close to 80.. ?
Fifita - can play 80, will that be the plan?

Then you've got the starting lock, and three bench forwards:-
Ofa - big motor, probably bench, but he is best suited to playing longer minutes really..
TPJ - another big minute player.
    Carrigan - future star
Flegler - just signed big dollars extension and has shown plenty of ability already, avg'd 30 mins a game in 2019

The other bench spot will almost certainly be a utility of some sort (rumours it will be Paix.. could be Macca..)

TPJ may well play some minutes on the edge or even start there. Nothing for certain out of the Broncos yet. Pangai played 6 games on the right edge last season before getting suspended and we went 5-1-0 in that time. Not that he was the sole reason, but he really turned that right edge into a weapon and repeatedly opened up space for Staggs and Isaako out wide.

I know the draw isn't the be all and end of one's fantasy prospects, but that opening six weeks for the Titans is brutal. Doesn't bode well for outside backs (read Brimson).

    Thoughts on Egan?

Having a quick look at his stats:

9 games last year over 50min for an average of 31. Priced at 26 odd. But games over 60min averages bumps up to 45.

Panthers had a shocking season last year and Warriors didn't fair much better. I'm expecting similar performance for minutes.

The thing in his favour is Tevaga and Roache are out for at least the first month. Lawton will be out for the first few games. Only risk is Kodi being played off the bench and CHT plays in the halves.

    Any other thoughts?

They have so many decent forwards with big engines it makes me think they will carry Paix with very limited minutes for at least the start of the season. Maybe some weeks won’t even use him. I’m kinda intrigued by Turpin in that case, if he averages 70 mins he could score high 40s average. Maybe hoping too much there. I’m presently very optimistic/overrating the prospects of every hooker in the comp.

As Glenn is captain and will play big minutes.

Not sure how many mins TPJ will play, but there is a chance Fifita won’t play more than 55-60mins.
