I wont be starting with him but will be keeping a close eye on him.

He'll score an 80, everyone will trade him in, then he'll get 18 the next week,

TLDR - is there value in Musgrove?

I am more interested in Thomas Mikaele.

If Packer stays out of favour, and Mikaele starts there is potential value there. Its going to be a bit hard to judge because he started a few games towards the end of last year where he still onyl got 30 minutes on the field.
But if he can bump his game time up to 40 minutes, there's good value for a $384k price tag

Obviously if Musgrove can work his way into a significant role there is value there too though

Cheers. Agree on Mikaele - Im still a bit hurt from last year with him though Smile I ended trading him in (instead of Lawrie) as I was about $5k short.... it was week 2 from memory... one of several killer blows to my season last year Smile Interestingly two of the others were Edwards and Croft, both of whom I'm seeing if I can fit into my side again to start the season.

On Musgrove though, he has a pretty decent bench role for Souths a couple seasons back. If he has a similar role he is great value... especially if you are trying to fill out a serviceable FRF spot at basement price for a few of the early rounds... thats my thinking anyway.

I mean he's probably by far the best of the basement price props if you're looking to fill an EMG spot. Cowboys base price bench FRFs could play but Paul Green probably won't even play guys like Jensen/Gilbert who dominate QLD cup even with Scott & Bolton retiring

Some of the other youngsters like Utoikamanu and Rudolf could possibly snag a bench spot also but got a lot of competition

Is anyone else having issues with NRL Fantasy app. I can log in, create a team and save. If I exit the app and try and get back on, it has the 2019 message as if the 2020 NRL fantasy isn’t ready?

Fantasy hasn't been officially launched, so things not working properly isn't unexpected.

The mistake is having the 2020 stuff appear at all, not that you can't save what you have in there

on iOS they seem to allow first time logins to access the game, so just delete the app and re-download.

Yeah, I owned him from round 1 in 2017. Started the first two rounds but then went back to the bench. I've had a bad habit of picking those types of props over the years. He wasn't the worst pick up though, made some cash, albeit slowly.

At this stage its near impossible to start thinking about putting an actual team together (IMO) however, in terms of starting to explore possible team compositions, it seems to me, this year more than ever with the inflated prices, that in order to get the obvious value guys and a couple guns, I suspect one will need to have at least 2 or three basement price guys in the starting 17.

For me, the teams I have explored have a whole bunch of 2RFs I feel are value, including filling out some of the 14-17 spots, WFBs that I think are all value, gun half (cleary) + rookie half, 2 cheap centres (probably including 1 rookie), and hopefully gun hooker. The only way I can get all that is to have a basement price (or near to it) FRF. If I cant find one that is ~10-15 points undervalued I'll have to re-evaluate the rest of my team lol.

So early though at this point. Will be interested to see how trials and team lists go... that'll be when the real fun starts.

I've just put together a first draft with all the players I had floating around in my head.

It is tricky. It feels very mid range, despite the value in so many of those guys. A few guys I want that I will probably have to bypass, and a few I'll need to pick that I don't particularly want to. Mind you, its January, and alot can and will change before round 1. A cheapie or two will emerge.

Starting Jake Friend instead of Cam McInnes makes a massive difference to funds...

Ese'ese isn't content with just training the house down

“He’s getting the best out of me this pre-season so far, and I’m very confident I’m going to have my best season yet, and that’s how I’m going to repay him… to play the house down for him.

I am not considering picking him, but I wonder what we will get from Ash Taylor this season. Sounds like he will be the 7 to start the year and he has got himself sorted mentally. Read in an article the other day that Tyrone Peachey had been training at 5/8 - if this is the case, Taylor very likely to do 90% of the kicking.

Priced at 35, he averaged 40 in 2018, where he kicked 289 metres per game. Could be some upside there. For a reference point, Moses kicked 372metres per game last year. Would probably be the goal kicker too (in 2018 he goal kicked a games, times, average of 0.8 per game).
