also, I know pearce's SOO race is prob run, but if we want to pick a form halfback you cant look past pearce. He has been the best halfback in the league over the last month. Absolutely killing it for newie at the moment.

I just dont see it with Graham. He is just doing what jennings did last year. He happens to be on the left wing outside of sutton and walker and is catching kicks off reynolds. I dont see what all the hype is about. Also, he is a left winger, we already have a left winger

if somthing happened to jake T, then finucane probably steps right in but i don't think we have a role for him atm despite how good he is going
Mclean is a chance
@pieman, i'm sure cotric played the majority of his footy on the right as a junion, saw some clips of him a right centre before playing there on saturday.the more i think about the more i actually would have him as right wing, not fergo.

Is young Sutton a possibility? Obv a pom, but I dont think he's played rep before and he might sneak into eligibility?
Besides him, Aiden Tolman should get a chance, ditch Crichton for Murray and play the Bunnies 6/7/9. ARey should never have been dropped in the first place, he's made for SOO.

I think he'd actually go pretty well, but fuck it is funny hearing Mitchell Pearce's name mentioned. QLD players would just need to run out in JT headgear and he'd assume the foetal position.

if not born in the state or had your father play for one states then you have to reside in the state before 13 to be eligible. so sutton is out
i could handle arey/walker. crighton will be on the bench, form has been down but he'll do his job and we've got a fair few other changes so i don't think we'll be to keen on dropping him. murrey probably takes JDB's spot (but likely with Jake T starting this time around)

why does Murray leapfrog Finucane? Genuine question
also, wasnt Reynolds injured come the next game/series? Cant remember exactly but i have a vague recollection of him being unavailable

Been playing more minutes this season, offers more in attack. About as good as each other in defense.

How does he offer more in attack? I would even say that Finucane's ball playing is a bit better than Murray.
Does he actually play more mintues? Prob irrelevant when looking at the origin side considering Murray (or either) would most likely be on the bench.
I would also counter that with - Finucane is a Grand final winning, experienced player, big body, who's game is perfectly suited to state of origin.

Finucane is another middle forward that will prob get overlooked for younger blood. I dont know why. I would rather see him get a jersey in the middle over the likes of Haas, Murray.
Bring those young blokes into the squad for the experience but surely someone like finucane could come in and start at 13, or play the role Jtrbo did last year from the bench.
If you want another guy to play 40+ Minutes, then sure, Finnucane is an option, but do you get the some explosive impact from him as opposed to a guy like Haas for 20 minutes? I don't think. Not all your forwards are gonna play 40, you've got Cordner, Frizell and Turbo who can all play 60-80 of high quality, Klemmer will give you 50+.
I think you can take a risk on a 20 minute boom forward who MAY just be a game breaker. Different story with a play maker or outside back.

Sure, they would have very different roles. But finucane can also play front row, and has been there and done it in big games.
They both offer good things

Murray runs better lines and more explosive. Murray is my tip of it came down to them both.

I'm not against Finucance filling a role, I'd rather give him a run than bring Josh Jackson back, who granted has been going good for the Dogs.

Cam Murray is the future and will be a 25 game origin player. NSW are insane if they don't pick him. Captained the NSW under 20's too so is a potential leader in the future.

murray is quicker, prob more energetic and a bit sharper around the field.
Finucane's ball playing is pretty great for a big man, is a bigger body, is experienced in big games and plays for Melbourne.
As I said, both have their good qualities

So TPJ has pulled the pin
Its got a bit of the "I was told I wasnt going to get picked, so fuck him" vibe about it.
He could have been great off the bench in origin, but geez he has been inconsistent this year. He has had 1 blinder of a game and thats about it.
I have no doubt he could be the best forward in the game in a few years, but fark me he is not even close at the moment.

Other reason - Form halfback of the comp for the last month
Yep, he has been shithouse at origin level.
I dont doubt that now that the best team ever is gone though he couldnt do a better job if he was to be selected again. That ship has sailed through.

In fairness, the greatest halfback of them all, JT, had a shocking tattoo of angel wings on his back.

Got to wonder though, even if he jags a win from his umpteenth start, does it really make it a cathartic moment? Surely unless he's playing into his mid 40's and strings together 5 in a row, it can't possibly wash away the stain? He's the still QLD whipping boy - right next to Gallen.
