And still it doesn't get them across the line against a team ranked 15. Even Bennett doesn't think they're top 8 material saying things like that.

That just further proves how much Milford and Nikorima failed to steer us home.

He's been good the past few weeks but let's not overlook all the other rubbish games he's played. There is no way he makes the 17 next year anyway.

I wanted Taylor back. Badly. Why he decided to stay at that shit club I will never know. He and Milf would have been a dynamic combo.

All the Sims boys are actually pretty good players but have flippers for hands. I would gladly have them all in my team, but if we're even or just ahead with 10 to go, I don't want them anywhere near the field.

Ashton Sims and the last 10 minutes, let's not go there.

Haha. Poor old Ashton will forever be harshly remembered due to that Storm fumble. One thing I give him credit for (as with his brothers), is that he could get a sense for the game and make a game changing play with a big hit, offload or strong run. In a competition where 90% of props and second rowers are the same sort of style and size and just do the same sort of thing every hit up and tackle, it is good to see in the game that there are some players with some X Factor.

Compare the Sims boys to say a Scott Bolton type player which I reckon makes up a large proportion of props and locks. Not only are most of their games 7/10 performances, but if you broke up each game into 20 minute quarters, each quarter they play would almost always range in quality between 6.5/10 and 7.5/10. You might get some 2/10 periods from the Sims boys, but you get your fair share of 9/10 periods as well.

I had nightmares about it and then GI scoring the winning try. I still see Sika Manu in my nightmares.

That Sims error was agonising, won’t say I’ve gotten over it, but it stung a little less with the realisation that Manly caught fire that finals series and we would’ve been at extremely long odds to topple them. Beale breaking Lockyers face in 2011 is what kills me to think about, very little doubt in my mind that we are 2011 premiers if that doesn’t happen and of course I needn’t mention the other one with the reminder less that 24 hours ago...

Looks like is what I meant

As an organising halfback, nikorima cant lace Brooks' boots. Thats how bad Nikorima is at it.

Like others have said, we are a good halfback (and a good injury run for once) away from winning a premiership. our forward pack has the best young talent in the league by a mile. Getting rid of Thaiday and Sims makes it look even better.

I'm not sure "the Cleary's" are the answer at any club, let alone ours given we already have a better coach.

In fact, I know they appear hell bent on playing together but I personally don't think it is in either of their best interests.

I agree re Ivan but Nathan is definitely the answer to our halfback woes.

Nathan Cleary is the best halfback in the league after Cronk at the moment. He is the answer at halfback at any club in the league pretty much.

    Couldn't agree more Pieman!

We should move heaven and earth to get Cleary and his Dad up to us

Why would you need a Cleary father son combo when you already have a Boydnnett father son combo?

So where do you Broncos fans all stand on the Bennett coaching situation? Should he be extended, cut loose at seasons end or simply see out his contract? If he isn't the best person for the job, who is your number 1 pick to replace him?

    My thoughts:

I'm sceptical of this whole Bennett vs White innuendo.
If it is actually true though, then I probably fall on the Bennett side of the ledger based on what he has done for the club.
But again wouldn't surprise me if it was a storm in a teacup and a welcome distraction from how inconsistently we are playing at the moment.

Going forward, I have always said from the moment Bennett returned to the club, that I can eventually see him transitioning into a coaching directors role.

Probably not good timing to suggest an arrangement like that, given the debacle that Gus has created for himself down at Penny but I personally think Bennett isn't the egomaniac Gus is and he would excel in a role like that.
His man management is second to none and if I was a young coach making his mark, then I'd have no qualms with having the best in the business in the background and as a sounding board.

Head coach wise, my preference is Siebold.
He really is impressive and I'm not surprised Souths are doing so well under his reign.

If we can't get him, not sure, maybe Kevvie but I see him being a better Origin coach than a club coach.
