Because you shouldn't.  I'm going to trade him in, he plays this week and was terrific last week.  He will be playing 80 minutes over the whole origin period and most likely the rest of the season.

Would you do it if it meant you could have JDB,Surgess,Mannering,Gallen,Crichton and Elliot?

Nathan Brown to Alvaro or Rochow for bye coverage? I've always wondered why Alvaro doesn't get a decent run. Didn't

    My trades for round 12:
    Idris out - Fuimaono in
Lamb out - Cody Walker in
    R. Jennings out - Nu Brown in (via Klokstad) - hopefully Brown he gets a run re TLT
Round 13 my 2 trades will be:
    CHN out - Taumalolo in
    F. Kaufusi out - a 138k frf in such as Tualau (based on current prices will leave 114k bank)

I planned to trade in CWalker this week but then I noticed Teddy is actually cheaper. Is it really worth trading in a guy for an extra two bye rounds worth of points when Teddy is obviously the better long term solution?

Whatever strategy will get you more points. Will be different for everyone depending on team make up and number of trades left. For me it's concentrating on forwards because they score more points rather than messing about with the backs just so I can field more players for the sake of it. I would say generally selling non keepers who don't play round 12 and possibly some keepers who are aboout to miss four plus games either through injury or origin. Then turn the non keepers who have played rd 12 and have two byes ahead of them into guns before trading your remaining non keepers back to the guns you might have traded out at the start. It's all about timing I think

I was setting myself up to have a competative side through the byes but injuries to Norman and Brown have made that difficult. I was always going to trade Kaufusi to Mannering this week but decided to get Brown last week and it backfired.

With my planned trades this week I'll only have 12 playing in rd 12 after looking like having closer to 15 at one stage. I'm currently sitting in 22nd spot overall and due to only having 17 trades left at the start of this rd my focus will be on bringing in season keepers rather than bye friendly players that need to be traded out again. I know I'll take a points hit during the byes but I'm hoping it wont be that much and still keep me within the top 200 or so.  With a bit of luck I can come home strong and make up some ground.

So with that in mind I am looking at trading Brown this week to either Mannering if named to start or Lolo. Manners plays rd 12 but not 15 and 18. Lolo on the other hand gets his first bye out of the way this week and only has 1 more in rd 18.

I dont have room for both in my pack so which would be the better option? Manners is a proven gun, is more consistent and cheaper but Lolo is a tackle breaking monster and capapable of massive scores but less consistent.

Next week, Brailey becomes McInnes and I may give McGuire one more week not sure yet, but he will become Vaughan. Then the only other trade I need to make in the forwards is Tolman to Fifita after origin and my forwards are done.

I'll need to use roughly 6 or 7 trades if all goes well for the above plan and one more to turn Norman to SJ. Then probably another 4 for my backs leaving me not very many.

It's pretty scary when you look at the broad picture like this, throw in a few injuries and suspensions and you're in deep shit!

    A) So is Nu Brown a good cash out for Milf if named? Should disappear after origin. Any idea how he scores at 80 min half?

    B) I have exact money for

    Milf>Nu Brown
    CHN>Gallen
    Suli>Cody

Normally would take this as sign but Suli has bye cover value still I have no FRF if Nate Brown doesn't play and could hold off till team list trade Milf out but Walker trade locks it in

C)Nathan Brown to Alvaro or Rochow for bye coverage? I've always wondered why Alvaro doesn't get a decent run.

Beware them mid-rangers. They do help you climb the rankings but unless you got a lot of trades up your sleeve it's a lot of in and out trading

I have 17 if I make 3 trades this week. I consider it a origin period triangle trade

    @mango

I feel you with the trade numbers situation, but here's the way I look at it: This whole game has a massive luck element to it. There will be many like you who have used a bunch of trades and will come out of the bye rounds with bugger all left. Many will get unlucky and end up with no trades in the bank and their rankings will drift because of it. A few will get lucky though, and the few trades they have left will carry them through to the end. Those are the guys who will likely top the leaderboard at the end of the day.

What Im trying to say is I reckon you have 2 options:

    1) play it safe, get a decent enough ranking (but nothing spectacular) and get beaten by those that take risks and get lucky?

Or 2) take a punt yourself and see if you get lucky too. All or nothing basically!!

I personally just don't see the point in playing it safe, I'd rather have a crack at winning the whole thing! Go hard mate, you've got a great ranking now, have a crack and give yourself a chance of winning the thing!!

The two extra weeks could be 80 points minimum. Plus week to week it hasnt looked like Teddy is the better prospect as yet. Get both if ur sweating over it.

Just to throw another spanner in the works, Rapana is the same price as Teddy and has a large BE so should be cheaper next week. He was almost 600k a few weeks ago.
