A couple of solid Captain choices considering no Smith. Gallen or Fifi gets the C?

I was going off this -

Forward George Burgess has overcome his injury woes and is set to return to career-best NRL form, according to South Sydney coach Michael Maguire.

The prop struggled last year with hip and groin injuries, playing 17 games as the Rabbitohs missed out on the finals for the first time since 2011.

The 24-year-old England international's output was its lowest since his breakout season in 2013, averaging 87 metres compared to the previous two years where he gained more than 145 metres per game.

Maguire was confident Burgess' fitness issues were behind him, praising his pre-season efforts.

"He's been able to get his body right," Maguire told reporters on Wednesday.

"People don't realise what he went through for the club last year with his injuries.

"He's been able to actually train full days now.

"Off the back of that, I'm sure he's going to have a good season ahead."

Burgess' season reflected the Rabbitohs' last year, with his two-month absence from round 11 after groin surgery coinciding with a nine-match winless streak by the 2014 premiers.

He helped the club restore some gloss to its year with four straight victories to finish the season as the Rabbitohs placed 12th.

Burgess, who's tied to the club until the end of the 2018 season, will not play in this weekend's Auckland Nines.

Way I see Gurgess is he only needs to hit low 30,s to maintain his price the potential to go big is there and his byes are good, I am giving him a chance................might take a few games but willing to risk him.

re Gurgess. He might initially start on the bench & ease his way in for a few games & then when he has his match fitness then he could start. I'm not starting with him & will see how he goes.

Hate pricks like him that think everyone owes them all the time.

Thought I would chuck something out there to join in the fun

    McInnes/King
    McGuire/Gurgess
    Surgess/Jackson/Taupau
    Johnson/Norman/Hingano
    CMat/Idris
    Gutherson/Walker/RTS/Hayne/Slater

Rocks or diamonds and 3k left

Or the the Smith lovers swap out McInnes/Norman for Smith/Mortimer

Just having a play around, usually build my team up from the cows then fill in my shortlisted players

If Gurgess just maintains his price it makes him a bad fantasy buy.

He needs to get an increase or money is better spent.

Cheers mate, can never have too many halves haha and decent byes too

Will probably chicken out and go forward heavy but not seeing a huge amount of options in FRF/2RF (for reserves) and at least you know fullbacks/halves play 80min.

Not completely sold on Gurgess but just wanted to make a cool looking explosive team on paper, rose tinted glasses of him in his debut season.

If I swap Norman/Gurgess I can even get Fifita/Elgey in too

    McInnes/Hodgson
    JBrom/JWall/Hoare/AFB
    Surgess/Bolton/SMat/KBrom/Stimson/BGray
    Johnson/Norman/Elgey/Hingano
    Whare/Idris/Scott/RJennings
    Holmes/RTS/Hayne/Pythian/JDrew

161K to spare - this is my 'buy Moneybags Cam fund' once he drops after a couple of rounds (I hope).

Forwards are real light on, but hopefully with a gun/near gun in each spot and making up for it with 2 x gun/near gun HOK & HLFs.

    Thoughts...
