Yeah tough to work out the Cowboys rotation. Will all depend on how Hess is used.

Hess is a big boy and could be used in the middle with his size but is only used on an edge. In the last 3 games of 2016 Hess came on and moved Lowe into the prop rotation. This year, who knows?

Yeah, except for the fact that there will be two Sharks hookers now sharing time instead of just Ennis, although they did have Beale on the bench a lot last year.

There's a lot of speculation on Cowboys Stampede but no one knows. Hess is 115kg and imo fills Hannant's bench spot with Bolts Starting IF Lowe is fit to start the season. Indeed the other bench prop (I've picked Hoare in my team but could be Kafusi or Spina) will be good value. My point is that I don't think Asiata benefit.

If past seasons are anything to go by I will likely pick the best performer in pre-season trial who then only plays 10min before disappearing after a few weeks, ala O'Brien

Hey HS and whoever else is in WA - I'm heading out that way in Feb, possibly even staying in Scarborough for a night. What's to do there? I already have a local guide and will be meeting new family while over there in Albany, Denmark and Bunbury. Don't think I would have time/be free for a beer catch up with anyone though.

Welcome to the forum mate. Nona will be playing for the Cutters (reserve grade) with Jai Field. It looks like either K. Mann or McCrone will start. They might run with a utility on the bench & it will either be one of those two.

I'm sure Honeysett's list of fun activities to do while in Perth looks something like this...

    Drink beer
    Do drugs
    Have sex (Tinder)
    Play Pokemon
    Drink beer
    Go to the beach
    Watch cricket
    Do drugs
    Local cafe's and restaurants

On that Fox Sports pre season chat one of the guys said that Brad Arthur said to him he wants to play an 80 minute hooker and Cameron King is probably the most likely to be capable.
This probably just means more missed tackles at the end of the game when he gets tired.

Been looking into hookers more (no not for filth's fun list Very Happy ). With some of them changing clubs/roles/benches they may get more minutes (which we can't really know yet), but I thought I would analyse if the increase in minutes is likely to make much difference if they got them. The following is the average of hookers when they play 70+ minutes. (70 just seemed like a good number for some reason).

Luke: Avg 52.4 over 13 games, priced at 48.5 value 3.9
McInnes: Avg 58.6 over 8 games, priced at 50 value 8.6
McCullogh: Avg 51 over 10 games, priced at 45.2 value 5.8
Peats: Avg 49.4 over 7 games, priced at 44.8 value 4.6
Farah: Avg 58.3 over 4 games, priced at 45.9 value 12.4

Then the question is who is most likely to get 70+ minutes each week. Farah would seem to be great value but with the byes and origin would be hard to pick especially with Cook there. Those looking at McInnes might be on the money especially if Mcrone plays half.

    Thoughts?

Well if Cam King is going to play 80 minutes then he will score enough to be a good pick.

Even if he is unlikely to reach the heights of the the gun hookers he should make enough cash to make an easier transition.

Nothng to do now though except wait for trials and see what happens

Very similar setup to mine at this stage

    Macca vs McInnes
    Klemmer vs Vaughan
    SJ vs DCE

Other than rookies like L Perret, Spina, Arrow, L Knight, N Butcher etc we have very similar teams. These rookies will show themselves round 1 and a few more might even pop up with injuries in pre-season.

Too often people focus on money making too much and are left behind after 5/6 rounds points wise.

If you find yourself using any of the following phrases, then you might be looking at a trap.

    "PPM King"
    "Added responsibility"
"He wouldn't change clubs for less minutes"

and of course the perennial favourite - "Training the house down"

Also, if the guys surname rhymes with Borbasson, its probably a trap.

Yeah Ive done this analysis already and agree. I came to the conclusion I have to have Smith, then the next best gun would be McInnes as Farah misses 5 rounds. Be good to have two hookers scoring close to 60 every week. Should be enough value elsewhere to not gamble on Cameron King/ Jayden Brailey types.
