Ireland and Wales will contest the Rugby League World Cup 2017 (RLWC2017) after both countries topped their respective Rugby League European Federation (RLEF) qualifying groups with victories overnight.

As RLEF qualifying Group A winners, Wales, will take position "EQ1" in Pool C of the RLWC2017 tournament draw, with Ireland taking the place of "EQ2" as Group B winners.

RLWC2017 CEO, Andrew Hill, welcomed the addition of both teams to the sport's pinnacle international event which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, with three pool games in Papua New Guinea, from 27 October until 2 December 2017.

"I'd like to congratulate both Ireland and Wales on qualifying for next year's Rugby League World Cup.

"With large expat communities in Australia, we know these two teams will receive strong support and win over a legion of new fans during their respective campaigns.

"With less than 12 months to go until the tournament kicks-off on Friday 27 October 2017, we look forward to confirming the 14th and final team after the final qualifying match between Italy and Russia to be played on Friday 4 November.

"The organising committee is preparing to welcome all competing countries and their supporters to what will be the greatest Rugby League World Cup."

The 2017 tournament will be the first time the Welsh Dragons have featured in a Rugby League World Cup played in the Southern Hemisphere since 1975, and the fourth consecutive appearance for Irish Wolfhounds.

    Wales RLWC2017 pool matches
v Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby on 28 October 2017
v Fiji, Townsville Stadium on 5 November 2017
v Ireland, Perth Rectangular Stadium on 12 November 2017

    Ireland RLWC2017 pool matches
    v EQ3, Barlow Park on 29 October 2017
v Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby on 5 November 2017
v Wales, Perth Rectangular Stadium on 12 November 2017

The fourteen and final spot in the men's RLWC2017 draw will be filled by the victor of Italy and Russia who will battle it out in the RLEF European Qualifier play-off on Friday 4 November in Leigh, England. The winner of this play-off will become "EQ3" in Pool D of the RLWC2017 draw.

"EQ3" (winner of Italy and Russia) RLWC2017 pool matches
v Ireland, Barlow Park on 29 October 2017
v USA, Townsville Stadium on 5 November 2017
v Fiji, Canberra Stadium on 10 November 2017

You don't get in and the ticket price comes out of the $$$ you have saved.
The ticket "collector" is on minimum wage like a Maccas worker, do they give a fuck if you get an extra pickle. Green is good, red means I might have to do something. Never done it myself, but first read about it on a site with someone trying to offload 1X Adult & 2 X kids tickets to origin.

It's only a matter of time before Welshy ditches the nation that gave him a start just to better his own personal standing and income.

and also lol @ pieman not paying to go to Knights game. Hell of a way to kick a team when they're down. No wonder they struggle if their own fans won't even care enough to support the team.

    I've used kids tickets once.

One socceroos game years ago I missed out on tickets before it sold out. Ended up buying a family pass on ebay.
Was only intending to use 2 tickets, but once I got the tickets it didn't actually specify which were the adult and which were the child tickets, so ended up 4 of us went and used them all.

Pensioner concession rate doesn't count as a full adult fare mate.

    Interesting comment.

    1. I dont live in newcastle and have been to prob 4 games at Marathon in my life, if that.
    2. Its pretty well known that Newcastle have a very good supporter base, they averaged nearly 17,000 this year according to here which puts them somewhere like 6th. Pretty fucking good for a side who was terrible this year and has been for the best part of a decade. Average home crowds are 3k more than the warriors.
    3. I never said I didnt pay for tickets, so good job on making that up. I said I paid for kids tickets and used them. I assume that when I settle down an become a boring cunt like you, ill start paying full price for NRL tickets.
