A lucky Egg is something that gives you double exp, you can't get them from PokeStops. You get them occasionally from leveling up, or you can buy them in the store. What you would of got was an egg (Which will have a Pokemon inside). You need to walk the required KM, put it into the incubator first.

Yeah what do you want help with? Theres a ton of videos as well if you find it easier to learn that way.

I will say there isn't much of a tutorial to the game when you begin.

Basically yeah. Have the app open and running. You can sit at home and they will appear, but you might only get 1 every 30 minutes or so, if that.

Go to a hotspot in your local city today at lunch and you will see a bunch of people all playing the game.

Can the app be running in the background or it actually has to be open?

Open, screen on. Alternatively you can use the battery saver feature which dims the screen (When you hold your phone upside down) and vibrates when a Pokemon pops up. I think the eggs will still hatch that way too.

So apparently its opened up in the UK.
I'm guessing that's why I have barely been able to log in today and the two times I have, I caught something and it disappeared then I got thrown out of a gym fight with no XP. Unimpressed. Such is the life at the moment though.

Yes it has opened in the UK only a day after I changed my region to Aus and creates a new Apple ID for the same region! Thought i was getting a leg up but the amount of people already playing is wild. I live in a rural area so it isn't as fun and poke stops and gyms are few and far between which is slightly disappointing, would love a long grass feature to be added for barren areas haha

So I've now got two lucky eggs. Any advice on how and when to use them to maximize XP. Holding off on evolving mons until I use it is something I am doing.

You can request a Pokestop/Gym to be added somewhere now.
