    Obviously one of the CTR/WFB cows could help you out and do a Soliola/Bird, but question is what's the minimum of your final 17 you need in your starting squad to avoid overtrading?

    Last years winner (PGC) only had two of their starting players in their final 17 (Parker &Teddy). Also started and finished with Gallen but traded him out and then in for the origin period.

    If you want to run with 2 big halfs from the start I think it's a give in that DCE should be i of them & the 2nd should be either A-Rey (will benefit with Surgess back), Maloney (becomes dominant hlf at Sharks & could really thrive like he did at the Warriors) or J-Rey (with Hodkinson gone he's the dominant hlf & should see increase in kick metres)

    My 4 atm are DCE, J-Rey, Hastings, Taylor.

    Agree with this WL. AReyn i see with a lot of upside this year, Maloney I'm not sold on, Townsend isn't a mug in fantasy terms and i don't think Maloney will be as dominant as some expect

    Those are my current halfs, and expecting a decent return from JReyn

    This is my team atm. I've gone for the balanced approach to get a strong 17. I don't know how many h2h games I've lost as my 16th & 17th man were crap.

    Smith (C), Peats
    Woods, Ah Mau, Trbojevic (nuffie)
    M. Cooper, Ma'u, Rochow, Tapine (Ualesi, Whitchurch)
    DCE, J. Reynolds, Hastings (Taylor/J. Nikorima)
    Auva'a, Copley (Henry, MCK)
    Ferguson, Slater, Mann (Gutherson, Anderson)

    Hookers & frf pretty standard.
    2fr - could be JDB instead of Cooper whoever starts at lock. Ma'u played 80 mostly last year & this year will be on the same edge as Jennings & Semi. I can see other teams focusing so much on Jennings & Semi on defense that Ma'u will get plenty of short balls leading to line breaks/tries. Ualesi is there as some guy on a forum who goes down to the Eels trainings said he's lost about 10kg, looks commited & could be a smokie in the 17 for round 1.
    hlf - gone with 2 recognised hlfs for balance
    ctrs - all I want from my centres is for each to score around 25-30 & anything above this will be a bonus
    wfb - Ferguson locked in for me. Same for Mann as looks like he'll be f/b. Slater could easily become Gordon or Mansour.

    What does Granville have to average to be increasing in steady value?

    With SJ and RTS. The Warriors have plenty of attacking potential this year. If they click from the start, plenty of tries, try assists, line breaks and the like to go around.

    I have my doubts about their continued lack of consistency, but for sure the potential is there. And if your plan is to wait for them to drop in price its entirely possible you'll be waiting a long time

    Granville priced at an average of 42.4.

    So the more he scores over that the more he will rise.
    he is more reliant on attacking stats than most so needs a few tries to keep his high average up.
    If they give him the 80minute job he is tempting, but I see him as more of a slow burn, gradually improving as the year goes on.

    Shame there isnt a WFB POD I can jump on this year like last year where I had Bmoz in my side pretty much all preseason.

    Each to their own I suppose. I was thinking of possibly running with Segeyaro and J Friend if neither has a backup named on the bench.

    Even if there is a utility on the Roosters bench (and even if their isn't, Aubusson is still a possibility as relief hooker) I see Friend playing big minutes and getting similar scores to last year

    Not many people willing to start the season with RTS. Its understandable given his price tag and the Warriors tendency to start slow and he is playing in a new team etc. Looking at the 2014 stats i see Pomkins averaged a very respectable 40 in his first 8 games in the Nrl, and frankly RTS is twice the player he is. Maybe club bias is clouding my judgement but he seems like he could be a nice POD of sorts within all the serious teams.

    This is too hard. There are a lot more players with potential to earn money compared to last year and trying to fit them into a balanced squad without knowing team selections is doing my head in. Come on TLT before I go insane

    Wasn't it last year, when during the preseason we all thought that Cam Smith was going to miss the first game or 2 through injury and he ended up surprisingly playing in round 1 ?

    Anyway going through Milchy's stats from last year, this is how Cam Smith started;

    Rounds
    1=60
    2=51
    3=80
    4=51
    5=60
    6=71
    7=76
    8=58
    9=51
    10=53

    Any thoughts on Tim Simona this year,

    Seems to be priced well for his potential and finished last year with a bang.

    What happened in the middle of the season though?

    Just on this, it's completely dependant on cash generation.

    I think there are better options then Simona
    Last year he only averaged 31.3, in 2014 he averaged 28.1 and in 2013 he averaged 34.4 and half the games he played were from the wing, so I don't think he will do much

    I think m bye will see more upside than Reynolds. Goal kicking will likely be his, and he has a cooler head so likely to be the controlling one imho
