Dally M Awards Predictions Empty Dally M Awards Predictions

    Have at it:
Dally M Award winner: I'm tipping a tie between Munster and Tedesco, with Mitch Moses the dark horse.

    FB: Teddy
    Winger: Sivo
    Centre: Mitchell
    5/8: Munster
Halfback: DCE, maybe Pearce, Moses the smokey.
Lock: Cam Murray (will be JT)
    2nd Rower: Agree, Bateman.
    Prop: Papalli or Haas
    Hooker: Smith, maybe Cook

Coach of the Year: Surely it is finally Arthur's time. Spoon to 5th with a squad with one Origin player. Will go to Des though for taking Manly from 15th to 6th with Multiple Origin and current internationals. Or probably Stuart, given everyone always rights the Raiders off.
ROTY: Sivo (sorry, didn't realise Haas was still eligible, it will be him and fair enough, great Rookie crop though, Xerri is another one)
Try of the Year: Warriors round 25

    What other awards are there?

    For me:

    Dally M: Tedesco

    FB: Teddy
    Wing: Sivo
    CTR: Latrell
    5/8: Munster
    HB: Moses
    Prop: Haas
    Lock: Murray
    2RF: Bateman
    HOK: Smith
    Interchange: someone like Hamlin-Uele maybe

    Coach: Hasler
Rookie: Haas is still eligible so easily Haas, otherwise it would be one of Sivo/Nikora
Try: Plenty of options, few Roosters ones: R4 v Broncos was particularly good

Haven't watched as much footy this year as previous years but here goes

    Dally M: Tedesco

    FB: Teddy
    Wing: Ferguson
CTR: tough one. Latrell I guess. Can't really think of a standout and Mitchell was brilliant until origin. Perhaps Esan Marsters
    5/8: Munster
HB: DCE, although Moses might finish in the top 3 of overall which means it has to be him
    Prop: Haas
    Lock: Murray
    2RF: Bateman
    HOK: Cook
    Interchange: Papenhauzen

    Coach: Bellamy
Rookie: If Haas is still eligible him, otherwise Nikora (if eligible) otherwise Sivo
    Try: Warriors Rd 25

The sleeper for Dally M is Mitchell Pearce. When we won he was MOM in most games. Cbf doing the rest atm

He was on 15 when it went behind closed doors after round 12, and they only won four games thereafter, he will dry up big time back half of the season, whereas a guy like Moses was only 4 points behind at that point with the Eels winning 8 from 10 of there next games, with Moses playing every bit as well as Pearce during that run. Think it will be hard for Pearce to hold Moses out let alone Munster and Teddy.

I had $10 on Cleary at the start of the year at $26. He's now paying $501. Every time I log into pending bets it mocks me You can still get $26 for Moses

Maybe they'll award him 34 Dally M points for his one good game on the weekend???

As for the Dally M, unless it is the 2018 Wally Lewis Medal judges, I can't see Teddy not winning.
Was just behind before it went closed doors and finished with a wet sail.

Only other bloke who might give it a nudge would be Payne Haas in my unbiased opinion.
He is a pretty good bet (around $2.80 I think) for top 3.

Cheers OSM. Any idea on the negatives mate? Not sure they all add up to suspensions. Even if they did then why aren't all players who have a balance of 0 points listed? #justnrlthingz?

Souths had a few struggles at the back end, I can't see Cook winning the whole thing. He might poll more than Smith, which would see him get the hooker.
Try of The year won't go to a team that scored against the Broncos, cause it likely meant standing up Boyd, not really amazing stuff worthy of Try of the year tongue

Both fair points - but I think its pretty likely that Cook gets 3 points for the games Souths did win and 1 from their losses. He's far and away the player of the comp for mine. I just hope it goes to a deserving play, not like last year.

And I think CheeKam didnt stand up Boyd, but Milf. VERY DIFFERENT.

As far as COTY goes, I acknowledge I am wildly biased, but I keep seeing people say Hasler is more deserving cause he has much less talent at his disposal. Can someone other than me objectively review that please?

At the start of the year Across key positions, it looked like this:
    1. TTurbo
    2. Tafua
    6. Walker
    7. DCE
    9. Korasiua
    10. Taupau
    11. Sironen
    13. JTurbo

    Eels had
    1. Gutherson
    2. Ferguson
    6. Brown (rookie)
    7. Moses
    9. Pritchard (replaced by Rookie Mahoney)
    10. Mannah
    11. Mau
    13. Brown

Now, regardless of injuries etc, as both team have had them, it's hard to argue at. The start of the year the Eels had a better squad. Of the names listed above Manly have 3 current Origin players, the likely Aus halfback, and 2 NZ internationals. The Eels have A redeemed Origin winger and NZ 2nd rower.

Am I being too biased in this? Was the Manly squad at the start of the year really deemed weaker?

Not Dip claiming McGuire only started dirty = tough this year but still a little.

The 2 backs combined cancel each other out, the 2 halves combined put Manly slightly ahead, hookers cancel each other out, pack puts Manly slightly further ahead. Remember your placing this at a time before a ball was kicked, Pritchard is playing the season, Big Brown was off the back of a good year, Siro was on the back of a shit one, Moses was knocking on origin door, Walker wasn't wanted, there's 2-3 tier 2 world cup players in the Parra squad. It's definitely closer than you make out.

Say what? McGuire was always a dirty bastard, but he was our dirty bastard. And he definitely stepped it up a level in 2019 with the eye gouging. His 2019 was almost Paul Gallen level dirty.

McGuire and Gallen are one and the same, two absolute knob ends. How anyone can like them, regardless of who they support is beyond me.

Ridiculous that the Golden Boot went to RTS over Tedesco.
The new format of the award makes no fucking sense, totally changes the meaning of it.
