Apparently they agreed to terms with Joe Greenwood. He is supposed to be a solid backrower from super league.

For this year?
I'm surprised they chased a backrower to be honest they are doing alright in that department.
Props however I think they need and should chase.

So now a consortium want buy them up and move them to Brisbane as the 2nd team. It's only an hour up the road for the 3 die hard supporters. I'm sure it will do well

I'm surprised the Titans haven't brought a few games away to Northern NSW. Coffs Harbour is what, 4 hours away and pretty big. Surely they've got a stadium as good as some of the regional grounds that are played in the NRL every now and then. Maybe Lismore, Ballina or Byron Bay???? Financially you'd think it'd make sense to take 1 home game a year to say Coffs Harbour, a game against the Cowboys or Broncos to Suncorp Stadium and maybe 1 other game regionally in that Northern Rivers area or even the Sunshine Coast. Sure you don't want to give away your home field advantage, but surely survival is the first priority for them.
Edit - "East Coast Titans". Based on the Gold or Sunshine Coast. 12 home games a year, 1 at Coffs Harbour or Northern Rivers, 1 at Magic Round, and the other 10 split evenly between Gold and Sunshine Coast.

Coffs Stadium (C.ex) would be good but Im pretty sure its still under construction. They only started stage 2 in mid March and it looked a long way from finishing back then. It has good lighting though, which a lot of regional stadium dont have. Port Mac is probably the next best Northern NSW option and that stadium is a shithole.
Quad Park on the Sunny Coast has already hosted an NRL game this year, they'd be bang up for another. It was huge and no QLD teams were even involved.

I went to a trial game at Sunny Coast at the start of the year and that had over 10K for that. I think with up to half a dozen games a year there they'd average 12K+. Not bad given you could put some of the lesser drawing teams there and still play things like the QLD derby's and Warriors games at Robina and get 20K+ to those games. If as a team you average 15K to home games you've got a pretty good base to work with.

You are right that coffs is prob the next best bet.
Port Macq stadium is fine too tho, its good enough to host the junior state champs every year and the NSW touch state cup. Its perfectly fine for a regional sporting stadium, its actually really good considering the size of the town. Would struggle to fit 10k in the whole ground/stadium tho.

Suggested Coffs Harbour to really be the Northern Rivers/Gold Coast area. Port Macquarie is another few hours south of Coffs isn't it? Could be hard to get support there (as opposed to the Knights) for a team about 8 hours away.

Although Port is second best in Northern NSW, in truth its daylight second and Port third. Coffs is a long way ahead of PortMac. Size, facilities, quality of playing surface. And thats before this second stage of development finishes.

I dont think the extra few hours drive from GC is really an issue, its not like youd be expecting the GC fan (singular) to travel, youd be trying to capture a fresh supporter base. If its more then, say, 2 hours away, at that point I dont think it really matters if its 5 hours away or 7 hours. Taking a game down that way should be a no-brainer.

Yep there are a lot of knights supporters in Port Macq, newie is about 2.5 hours north of Newie and about 6 hours from the goldie. There is no chance you could turn them into Gold Coast supporters without having a consistent Titans presence around the area. Port Sharks had been linked with Cronulla for some time but Im not sure if they have any arrangements with NRL clubs any more.
And ryno, I agree, the surface at Coffs is amazing, its like a bowling green. There are some great facilities there as well and the wallabies go there regularly on their camps.
The current stadiums are similar in size, coffs being more modern and slightly bigger but the gound is bigger at Coffs for sure. Port Macquarie is a much nicer town though.

They wont admit defeat though while the AFL is still digging their heels in (just as unsucessfully as the NRL mind you)

Sad part is the AFL is pumping millions in to the Suns and don't look like stopping, even though it's a lost cause.
Both codes need to get the FK outta dodge but who ever leaves first will give the advantage to the other.
