How many more years has Green got left in him though?

He's got an option of a  year in his favour, I believe (?) after this year.

CHT and Paul Turner (when he's ready) have been long touted as the future Warriors halves and I don't think that has changed.

EDIT: Turner. Not Green. Got Green on the brain Embarassed

Lucky arrow plays first tonight. If he is out I may have to change Lomax to Waddell

Not sure how that means he'll stay in the 17.

He won't be on the bench over Tevaga or Roache either.

    CHT to NSW cup.

I know neither of us want that or agree with it Rabs but that's reality.

Imagine paying Nikorima 500-600k when CHT will be better.

I don't mind having CHT biding time and building. This has been a great experience for him. Once Green retires he'll be a stronger player. I feel it's to the players detriment plying on the pressure too early. He's the future for the Warriors and hopefully he has those braces out Razz

I'm not sure what your argument is for anything else aside from its what you want to happen.

    Which is it?

1 - They've signed Niko as a reserve grade player on $600k+ and are lying about their intentions?
2 - Niko will play off the bench instead of Tevaga/Roache with CHT staying as the starting half and they have lied that Green and Niko will be paired in the halves.
3 - CHT will play off the bench instead of Tevaga/Roache or we'll have three utilities on the bench?

I think the Warriors have been up front about this one and CHT will spend more time in reserve grade, only covering injuries. Blake Green and Kodi Nikorima will be the halves pairing going forward for this year.

The most likely scenario for him to play first grade is if they choose to put him on the bench over Roache but I don't see it. It's possible.

anyone else going different way of the pods I'd much rather run with cook smith Farah McInnes and macca/rein since very little teams will be running of all of them so much potentional to gain ground this way

Can't help but wonder there is more to the nikko/cht situation. Not a lot of info on the blake injury.

My EMG's are Xerri, Lomax, Allan and Sivo. I've got 287k in the bank but was saving that for Lawrie to Farah next week.

Going to have to get very creative next week.

If you haven't traded this week get Flanagan in. This will give you a reprieve for 4 weeks till you scramble more cash.

    What do you mean?

He seems pretty confident he is playing this week.

    ~

Green said it was now up to him to take the pressure off in attack and allow Harris-Tavita to play to his strengths on Sunday at Mt Smart Stadium.

"Hopefully he can just take a big breath and relax," he added.

"I'll do my best to make sure I can control the game and the way we move around the field as much as possible."

CHT has done a good job for a guy with his experience but he does have a few weaknesses in his game, which is completely understandable. His kicking game has been spotty and he does have the tendency to just shovel the ball on woithout taking a step which doesn't help our attack.

As Rapture said, there is nothing wrong with him going back to the lower grades and ironing out some of these things so we have a guy with first grade experience ready to step in when Green calls it a day.

While I wouldn't have gone out and signed Nikorima myself, I was encouraged to see how well he played for the Kiwis last year and him and Green could be quite a good pairing. I am going to wait and see how it goes before criticizing the move.

My "big call" prediction last year was that Kearney would keep his job.
I'd make the same prediction this year. It's not necessarily what I want. Something has to give if we don't make finals this year.

If he lasts this year I think he'll be first to go in 2020.

Kearney has limitations but I still think he did a good job cutting out the rot of the last 8 years of underperformance. A complete change of culture was needed and just about the entire roster has been changed from the Elliot/Cappy years. I don't think it is conincidence that just about every player we have gotten rid of the past 3 or so years have basically faded into obscurity.  That was evidenced last year when we improved drastically on our weaknesses from previous years (Poor start and ends to seasons, falling off in the last 20 minutes of the game, general fitness)

We haven't started the season well but I will hold off on calling for his sacking yet.
