Agree on a lot of this. Happy with Gillet, far better than the 45 odd in 60 minutes I expected. Will only get better as he gets fitter, even if he plays more edge.

I find Croft's 45 with no attacking stats more promising than Munster's 50. Munster was in everything dominating the ball, yet Croft only scored 5 less.

Bird the biggest target for mine from that game. Disappointing I went with Kahu in my EMG instead of Bird after tossing it up for a few days. Will probably trade him in for Bird after that. With his 50 he'll go up 34k to 323k. Just enough with my huge bank of 39k!

Brandon was impressive too. But can't see him stealing much more of Finucane's minutes...

Brandon Smith looked like he was filling in Glasby's role with Finucane getting more "prop" minutes. Not a huge difference with the way Melbourne use prop and lock

Rumour last week on sharks forum that Capewell will be on the right side, so potentially his position for the season. (assuming nikora makes way for Graham). Guess we'll find out soon enough anyway.

I'm half expecting Sorensen to be a late starter for Nikora. Nikora looked like he needed half a season in nsw cup in the trials, imo.

True, hes also only worth 343k, going up to about 366k. Could easily ride him for a good while if he can maintain those minutes and avg.

Doing that based on how Capewell scores in one game is silly. What happens when Bird stinks next week and Capewell gets a banner?
I'll probably get Bird myself but trading a probable keeper to him based on one game isn't the way to do it.

Well. Can't help but feel a little disappointed about my team. I was 100% against Bird, thought he played ordinary, didn't see much of him....then I looked at the fantasy points. Christ. Now the question is, do I get him in or be stubborn like I was about Ponga at the Cowboys....that turned out well.

I thought McCullough would have scored more too...

The main reason not to pick Bird for me was just a bit of concern about injury.
There was an article recently about him losing 7kgs and bring on really good shape. Normally I ignore that sort of fluff piece, but in this case probably should have listened.

He's the one that screams must have out of last night (I have Gillett)

Cam Smith will probably be a final 17 hooker, but no rush to get him in.

Hughes did OK, but I think he'll need to score a bunch of tries to be worthwhile in fantasy (and scoring a bunch of tries is certainly possible for him)

If that happened, I'd probably swap Nikora to Salmon, and get Birds score from position #18. Obviously no gaurentee that Salmon starts next week, although Eels fans seem confident he comes straight in.

Will Bird only go up $34K, that looks a little light on years gone by. I was expecting $50K. How do we work it out?
What the first game has shown me is that the best formula truly is guns and cows. Midrangers (except the odd one like Gillett) will not be making as much money as guys less than $400K that score really well. I'm a bit worried how many midrangers I have that just won't make the coin I want or score enough to be relevant.

Sharks are next up so plenty of options. Personally I'd just bring in Garrick or some other cow and move DBrown into my playing 17.

Possibly rejig my team so I can bring Bird in next week with 1 trade and not have to worry about cash generation

I think I'd have to upgrade Nikora to Holland at maybe the expense of Taupau while saving enough coin to turn a failed 212k/228k guy into Bird.

Apologies for laziness - but what is the magic number to start the year, was it 14910?

Mtb the score in your match centre reads 0-0
Is it possible to get the score added. Sometimes when I can't watch a game I use the site for score updates s well as fantasy points

If Kahu scores well are people going to trade him to bird?

If he scores poorly will people be able to afford trading m to Bird
