As long as all the players are undervalued, and their positions in the team are secure, it should work well.

I don't think trying to hedge your bets like that is going to work in this game and see you excel up the rankings.  Maybe a short term thing to see who to keep and who flops but you will always more than likely have 1 maybe 2 with below par scoring, which you can't afford.

    Im still tempted.

Keighran I think I could put him in my 17. He looked like the chief of the team in the first half, very hands on.

If Burr starts, I'll put him in my 21, but will probably work on the assumption that he'll only play 30-40 minutes.

I think pairing Brown/Keighran with Morgan, and maybe a gun half, will be very popular

I don't think it matters either way. They are either good picks on their own merits or they aren't. Burr and Roache are cheap so don't have to score that much to make a decent cow, in your 17 is another story. And Tevaga if he gets the minutes could be a good pick also. An argument could be made for all of them. All of this is probably dependent on Luke leaving which I've seen nothing solid on.

Will Macca play the full 80 this year or will staggs take minutes of him. Cheers.

Full 80, Staggs is just a backline utility that might play a little second row

I highly doubt Staggs takes minutes off Macca. He's primarily a centre and can play 2nd row. Seibold carried a back on his bench last year and typically played them very low minutes (unless injury) but never at hooker. They were there for injury cover only really. Macca likely to get 80 imo.

Going to bin him from #18 and not overspend in NPR. You boys were right

Stimson played like 45mins so should be alright according to my stats
Burr played 50, and Drinkwater, Keighran and CHT all played 60 with Keighran spending a little time at centre at the end

What's the go on the Ladder Predictor this year? Does it usually get up closer to round 1?

    Hi everyone,

Almost wasn't going to play this year but decided to put a team together and see what happens. Probably will only play for fun this year and not join any leagues.

    C. Smith
    A. Fifita, TPJ
    J.Arrow, C Murray, M. Gillett
    M.Morgan, D. Brown
    K. Capewell, J. Bird
    C.Watson, D.Edwards, Z.Lomax

    A.McCullough, J.Stimson, W.Egan, L. Burr
    T.Fuimaono, B.Nikora, A.Kieghran, A.Hopoate

Pretty happy with the forward pack and I think that there is plenty of value in Gillett, hopefully he won't be lacking in confidence after his injury. Not happy about Lomax being in my starting 17 but no other option really. If Mahoney is confirmed as an 80min starter I'll downgrade Macca to him and use that cash to strengthen some other positions.

I really wanted to start with Teddy as well and as much as I tried it left me too light at the back. Not much cash left in the bank either, around 10k which isn't much for emergency upgrades.

    Thoughts would be appreciated.

Really good team actually, can't see a fault in it. Maybe that the Fuimaono talk wasn't very substantial, think he gets a bench spot at best

Problem with going so many cheapies, is that you need them all to fire. Too many duds and you spend the first few weeks just fixing up your starting team.
You have to play 4 sub $300k players every week. Are you comfortable you'll have 4 scoring well enough to play in your 17.

Last year we had a very successful batch of rookies, maybe we'll do that well again this year, maybe it will be more of a struggle.

Also if waiting to see if Mahoney is confirmed 80 minutes before making a decision (assume Luke stays a Warrior)

Parra play the 2nd last game of the round. If you wait for their team list before making a decision, there may not be many options for you if team isn't named how you'd like.

Going to have to have a bit of a gamble on people like him and Egan (hopefully we can have some confidence in what final team will look like to make decision easier)

If Nikora starts he should be in your 17. If he doesn't, he shouldn't be there at all.
