There was the FOX game and Sportal had a version as well. Before that there was the one where you literally posted your selections in, like by fucking mail  before those.   One of the lads on here (maybe Fraser or GM or Sash?) used to play it and relive the story occasionally, pretty sure was one of the Raiders favs anyway.

Actually GM might remember more about when the Sportal DT/Fantasy threads started as well.

In New Zealand there was a fantasy rugby comp I played at school in 1997. You mailed in your original team and registration and they sent you a wall planner which you used to keep track of your team (scoring was winning team, tries and goals) and when you wanted to change players you had to call up a toll number and make the changes by inputting numbers.... I was at a boarding school so used to have to get my grandfather to do it for me which was always an adventure!

Crazy to think how long ago that was - I played the old sportal games, won a couple of times, though the prizemoney was $500 or so. Was on the old sportal forums too before it became VSDT. I still play everything on VSDT, including their weird free daily fantasy stuff (there was a few weeks there where you could play cash entry ones but that stopped for some reason). My daily fantasy bank is back over $300 now. I better withdraw it incase they stop doing it. Haha.

The scoring was so simple back then. I think it was just wins and tries, maybe goals also. Same for EPL - wins and goals.

Good times. Fantasy sports is great fun. But I may have a problem....NHL, NFL, EPL (x2), NRL (x3), AFL (x3), Big Bash, MotoGP, F1, V8s....feck. I'm sure there's more too. Haha

I was trawling through old posts to find my round 1 team from last year. Found a post where I said pre-round 1 that I thought Isaako would surprise and stick around the whole season.* ^
