A lot of potential but doesn't seem the kind of player who is going to be great week in week out.  So 600k a year  Shocked

its a fair amount money but it won't be all included in the cap

i think re-signing him, klem and jackson is all that matters, it'll cost us elsewhere but as long as those 3 are still on the books in 2017 then its job done

T williams off contract after this season obviously comes in handy

Just shows how rubbish the Tigers are, Mbye has shown more then both our halves and they are holding out signing a 600K extension.

What do you blokes know about Hermen Ese'ese? Another Broncos signing that excites me is Carlin Anderson. Hopefully he gets a crack next year. Also did I mention Timu is back? Yeah baby.

Ese'ese is a pretty high impact player, not sure he is capable of anything more then 15 minute stints in the NRL tho and has been in trouble a few times off the field

If he is just doing 15min stints im not sure if he'll even get a run with the reduction of interchanges.
mind you Des was only using 7 or 8 last year anyway.

he got released for his off field issues and signed with a Q cup team, Brisbane just giving a trial i think

i really don't think the reduction will make a huge difference, most teams would have usually aimed to use 8 and kept 2 just in case, i guess team will still wanna keep 1 in case of an injury but i can't see it having the huge affect some expect

a move to 6 would have been better

I agree with a move to 6 would have made it more for fitter players but I always think back to Fui Fui getting knocked out in the first hit up once. Itd be a pretty tough ask to play off 5 interchanges for the rest of the 79mins so I like that and you can have a one or two for back up.

    but sometimes that's just footy

if he was taken out by an illegal hit (deemed reportable) then it doesn't cost you an interchange (and i think you get another free one these days regardless of whether they return )and if its just a normal injury then that's life.

Yah the guy who hit him copped a few weeks as I recall but im pretty sure it used an interchange because that's what the coach was blowing up afterwards about.

in that circumstance, if it was bad enough to get a few weeks then them not getting a free interchange is because the refs made an error, not a reason for the game not to limit interchanges

i personally just think 8 is gonna achieve very little, if you really wanted fatigue in the forwards to come into it, you'd go to 6.

The bulldogs have a huge pack but never use more then 3 interchanges in the first half (pending injuries of course) , sometimes only used 2. 8 interchanges is still enough for every club to have a pretty fresh forward pack for the whole game

we will notice the change in origin tho, big time

I dunno - I do think it'll have a noticeable impact. Just my 2c. Less interchanges straight up would have resulted in a noticeable increase in blow-outs, but I still don't think the change will be negligible....

Yeah, I think it will be evident as well. The Tigers have done one thing right in recruiting Rod Griffin. Hopefully he can play at the same intensity at NRL level without needing a spell.
